Originated as a Web3 study group of traditional artists in Osaka, ArtGumi is an international non-profit community of artists, curators, galleries, educators, engineers, developers, researchers, art lovers and everyone who share interests in combining art with technology as well as building Web3 art world.

We aim to be a place for Web3 creative minds to come together to make true connection, learn new things, experiment, enjoy themselves and have fun together through arts.

We believe that art, has power to inspired and move people’s hearts. Art can be one of the important factors for Web3 mass adoption especially for people with non-technical background. Art is the great communication tools to convey great ideas in the world as well as the best innovation playground. We encourage and support collaboration between art and technology.

Fun Fact : Gumi in Japanese means “gang / group / league” as well as “gummy candy”.

Past / Current Activities :

1. ArtGumi Exhibition in The Open Metaverse (February 2022) , exhibiting works from 32 traditional artists we onboarded into NFT space.

2. ArtGumi Art Picnic (Weekly online gathering since September 2022). Art Picnic is the weekly online talk, discussion, brainstorming sessions on topics ranging from arts, Web3 technologies, psychologies, decentralise philosophy, etc.

Past Picnic topics include, AR, AI, LLM Chat bot, Smart Contract, Pixel Arts, Art & Tech, Hardware Wallets, Gadgets, ERC-6551, Mental Health, Creative Routine, Branding, Marketing, What will you teach, Inspiration Boost, and more.

3. ArtGumi IRL NFT Exhibition at Metasequoia Art Fair in Osaka (June 2022) , exhibiting works from 42 artists. The art fair itself mainly focuses on traditional and non-digital art. It’s the first time they include digital and NFT art to traditional art fair.

4. ArtGumi x Fracton Ventures NFT workshop at the DECK Osaka (December 2022) . With great support from Fracton Ventures, in this workshop we introduced Web3/NFT from 0 to important topics such as CC0, Right Click Save As, deploying smart contracts on Manifold, minting artworks, as well as tip on community building as staying for the long term.

The audience included lecturers and students from Kyoto Seika University, traditional artists in Osaka, as well as general public. The workshop was free of charge.

5. ArtGumi WORLD Exhibition on Foundation (April 2023) , exhibiting works from 22 artists we onboarded and stay active in bear market.

With great support from the Open Metaverse by Punk6529 as well as Oncyber, we also organised the exhibition party in the Open Metaverse.

Up Coming Activities :

1. RINNA x ONBD SuperRare Space Exhibition (Will be launched in October 2023), ArtGumiDAO’s founder, Rinna Clanuwat, is collaborating with ONBD in the new exhibition featuring 13 artists which include members and non-members of ArtGumiDAO.

2. ArtGumi Digital ArtZine (Will be launched in October 2023), the monthly ArtZine focusing on highlighting people with interesting works, projects, and ideas related to Art & Web3 technology regardless if they are member or not.

ArtGumi Membership : New members are accepted through friends of friends basis, invitation, as well as open application (but we have our members voted on new applicants no one knows to prevent possible bad actors and scammers).
