Asilo Digital is a Spanish-language digital platform focused on making technology content accessible, with a blog, newsletter, and active Telegram community, driven by volunteers mostly from Venezuela aiming to become a leading tech resource in Latin America.

Asilo Digital is a community-centered digital platform with the purpose of creating technology content in Spanish that is more accessible, friendly, and understandable for all people.

Asilo Digital has a team of 13 active volunteers that build solutions in different areas such as programming, design, editing and more; as well as a team of creators with more than 30 people.

Currently, Asilo Digital counts with a blog (148 publications), a weekly newsletter (255 subscribers), an active community on Telegram (288 members) and has collaborated with different partners such as: Ethereum Caracas, Friends of Figma Caracas and Wikimedia Small Projects.

We believe that the information we consume on the internet also has a direct impact on our learning process, so we decided to create a safe space where both amateurs and professionals can get answers to all their questions and doubts. The community, by actively participating and deciding, is making a positive change in this present full of misinformation and fake news, considering that the Latino public is more prone to receive, consume and share fake news and misinformation on the Internet than the general population.

The team of volunteers and most of the creators are in different states of Venezuela, reaffirming the collaborative model facilitated by technology that we believe in. In the same way, we have connected with collaborators from other Latin American countries, being this last point one of our objectives: to be a technological media of reference in Latin America. All the initiatives of the community have an interest in promoting technology and its correct use, as well as the development of potential talents in generating a positive impact in the field, mainly in Venezuela.

Asilo Digital plans to consolidate in Venezuela and become a reference platform for technological promotion in Latin America, as well as the meeting place for all those passionate about these topics, positively impact the technological debate in the region and to reach strategic alliances to address the challenges of communication and education of the present and the future in the best way.
