What is AstroChain's Purpose?
AstroChain encourages and develops space exploration for the retail enthusiast, bringing together people with a common astronomy passion into one platform. We aim to serve the international community as the market dominant solution to capture, source and trade authentic, un-edited, raw data and video footage of the sky. We will keep records of captured content utilising the blockchain and give members sole ownership via NFTs.
The Astrochain Decentralized App
The Astrochain Decentralized App(dApp) consists of several modules which together create a unified platform for space research and education. The modules include the AstroFeed, AstroPrint Preprint Server, AstroHub booking platform, AstroStore web interface, and more.
The AstroFeed dApp
AstroFeed is a decentralized app (dApp) that provides a space for astrophotographers to share their observations and experiences. It is a content sharing platform that allows astrophotographers to share their work with a community of like-minded individuals.
With the ability to mint photos and short videos into NFTs, astrophotographers receive a verified timestamp that proves the authenticity of their work on the Blockchain. The platform also offers a royalty program, enabling photographers to receive fair compensation for their creations and fostering a supportive community among those who invest in their art. Utilising the AstroFeed, astrophotographers can safeguard their content from theft or unauthorized use, ensuring that their hard work is properly credited and represented.
The AstroPrint Preprint Server
AstroPrint is a new subsystem by Astrochain which allows researchers and scientist to upload research materials(papers, slides, articles, etc) onto the Astrochain Decentralized App for others to view, cite, and provide feedback on their research.
AstroHub Devices
AstroHubs are tools designed for observing astronomical events. They scan the sky to capture and record anomalies, which are then provided to users as NFTs. Users can book a time slot to own the footage captured during that time via a dApp. The data is stored on the IPFS network to build the first anomaly database on the blockchain. The booking process and NFT minting process is user-friendly, resulting in a contribution to the astro anomaly database and ownership of a unique NFT.
AstroCenter
The AstroCenter is a metaverse platform that offers educational and research opportunities for space and astronomy enthusiasts. With a focus on high energy and innovation, the AstroCenter brings together a global community of individuals passionate about space and learning.
The AstroCenter provides a range of features and opportunities for people interested in the blockchain and NFTs, as well as influencers, speakers, photographers, designers, and more. The astro anomaly database is accessible to everyone, while membership to the AstroCenter, obtained through a paid SaaS license or by minting a membership NFT, provides access to additional features such as the AstroCenter Talk Forum and the AstroCenter KIDSHub. The AstroCenter KIDSHub provides educational opportunities for the next generation through gamification.
Science Communication
The Astrochain Science Communication subsystem consists of all virtual and physical content published to the public across all mediums with the purpose to increase science awareness, engagement, empowerment, and literacy.
Examples include: Linkedin Posts, Instagram Educational Reels, Educational and Informational Website Blog Posts, X-Spaces(non-shilling), etc.
AstroStore - Decentralized Astronomical Catalog
The Astrochain Decentralized Astronomical Catalog(AstroStore) Subsystem is the first astronomical catalog on the blockchain. The Astrochain Decentralized Catalog stores linked data of astronomical objects, on the blockchain. The Astrochain Decentralized Catalog will be available in the Astrochain Decentralized App, available on web and mobile, and will allow seamless integration into existing data processing workflows.
