Developing a system to reward open source contributions by crowd-sourcing value assessments and using AI models, aiming to fund core Ethereum repositories based on their relative importance.

Driving rewards to open source dependencies with a market of AIs as the engine and humans as the steering wheel, Deep Funding requires 3 components:

  • A data layer mapping all contributions to an ecosystem

  • An open contest to crowdsource the relative value between contributions

  • A jury to express preferences on a randomly selected set of contributions

The models best aligning with jury spot checks win the contest and get their weights chosen for distributing funds to all repos.

The current deep funding challenge seeks predictions on relative importance between 5000 open source repos powering Ethereum. We also have a leaderboard ranking submissions based on 500 spot checks from a jury
