Description The Method - Web3 education project for Latin American independent musicians
Overview:
The Method was conceived by Sol Siete (a pioneer in NFT music in Latin America, founder of MusicaW3, and mentor in web3 music) along with musicians from the MusicaW3 community. It aims to seamlessly bridge web2 and web3, fostering blockchain technology adoption, enhancing liquidity in the general market (through fan engagement in purchasing and selling music across any chain), and expanding Spanish-language music within the web3 music niche. Presently, English songs dominate and flourish in this space. The Method was presented in-person in Buenos Aires in October of this year, giving rise to an IRL festival named Ciberw3b, where half of the course graduates participated, successfully selling their first musical NFTs to their fans in real life. We also have the collaboration of the app: https://onchainmagic.xyz to facilitate onboarding for creators and fans, streamlining processes. Due to the success of these two major events—the workshop and the festival—we've been invited to tour Latin America, including participation in this year's EthLima conference and ExpoSound fair https://exposoundperu.com. This tour would commence at LiteHouse (a Uruguay-based activity hub exclusively for hybrid events (web2.5), focusing on digital nomads and technology adoption). It would continue in Lima, Peru, and culminate in CDMX alongside the MxWeb3 community. We believe we can revolutionize the music industry through blockchain technology, providing opportunities for talented, underprivileged Latin artists.
Key Activities
Educational reels on the intersection of web3 and independent music Closing festivals at each workshop Promotion of drops and playlists from the MusicaW3 community Post-workshop team advisory sessions with the MusicaW3 community and previous workshop graduates Integration of the web3 community through musician interviews on Xpaces every Wednesday: https://x.com/solencontraluz/status/1714365892618809809?s=20 Active promotion IRL for the sale of digital collectibles at concerts by participating musicians and graduates of The Method Workshop. Recent Achievements 150 attendees at the CIBERW3B festival successfully selling live NFTs https://app.fanz.events/event/cyberw3b-festival---musicaw3-e0x120#tickets Numerous media interviews in Buenos Aires, Argentina More than 20 musicians in 1 month were able to sell and create their musical NFTs, earning 10 times more than with Spotify and other web2 platforms. We have been called upon to continue our activities across Latin America by several significant communities in the ecosystem: Mxweb3, Criptocuriosas, ethlima, and Litehouse (Realtek marketplace). Short-Term Goals To generate wider adoption of blockchain technology to enable sustainability for underprivileged independent musicians' careers in Latin America. To fund our tour across Latin America to share our expertise gained over more than 2.5 years in the web3 music ecosystem.
Core Activities
Creation of educational content on web2 platforms: X and Instagram Workshops for independent musicians Issuance of soulbound certificates IRL experiences for early adopters (live purchase and creation of NFTs) Creation of free study materials for workshop participants Active follow-up on projects from workshop graduates in free coworking spaces Organization of a culturally impactful closing festival where The Method workshop is conducted.
Vision and Impact
We aim to create opportunities for musicians and fans across Latin America and establish a self-sustaining network for talented, underprivileged artists' music careers. We believe education should be accessible and should yield benefits for the entire ecosystem, not just creators. We trust that blockchain can solve many current issues in the music industry. We can address them through thoughtful application of technology to careers and companies. Any music career is sustainable if supported by a fan base. We are convinced that change is possible through independent web3 musician communities. We aim to expand and already have collaborations with UNA CANCIÓN https://twitter.com/UnaCancion_xyz, which funded our latest festival. Now, we aim for more in other Latin American countries where other founders will offer their courses: Yoshiro Mare in Colombia and Yaxx Castillo in Havana, Cuba. We hope to have the support of the entire community to make this dream of the tour and global adoption of blockchain technology possible.
Long-Term Goals:
To provide job opportunities for other musicians to become educators. To establish a secure network of free educational support for independent musicians throughout Latin America. To encourage conscious music consumption through blockchain. To achieve adoption in more than 8 countries within 1 year.
To participate in large-scale conferences and shows to offer experiences with web3 music. To continue building a healthy ecosystem with web3 artistic collectives, collaborations, and independent musician communities. To encourage the creation of collective drops for project self-financing.
