Enhancing the ENS Registry Bot for Greater Ecosystem Impact:

Executive Summary ➡️ ➡️

@ensregistry is a community-driven bot that tracks and reports new .eth ENS domain registrations in real-time. Launched in December 2021, it has been operating for 16 months, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in the face of recent changes to the Twitter API. The service has proven valuable to the ENS ecosystem and the DAO, driving new ENS registrations and generating increased revenue. This grant application seeks funding to improve moderation, expand support for ENS Name Wrapper subdomains, and maintain continued growth and impact within the ENS community.

Project Background ➡️ ➡️

The @ensregistry bot has been active for 16 months, providing real-time visibility into newly registered .eth ENS domains. Despite challenges presented by recent changes to the Twitter API, the service has maintained minimal downtime, successfully posting:

--478,000 tweets in total --1,440 tweets per day on average (during peak) --Up to 18 names per tweet during peak times

The @ensregistry bot has significantly contributed to the ENS ecosystem and the DAO by: ➡️ ➡️

--Increasing ENS domain registrations, fueled by the real-time visibility provided by the bot

--Enhancing DAO revenue through the growth in domain registrations, thereby improving financial sustainability and supporting further development

Future Objectives: ➡️ ➡️

To continue providing value and expanding the impact of the @ensregistry bot, we aim to:

--Develop mechanisms to identify and filter out spam or malicious registrations, further enhancing the quality of the service

--Extend support for subdomains created via the ENS Name Wrapper

--Facilitate better understanding of the subdomain landscape, driving growth in both primary domains and subdomains

--Maintain and expand the bot's reach and impact within the ENS community, promoting awareness and adoption of ENS domains
