Educate and empower individuals in Web3 tech through online resources, community building, and partnerships; promoting DeFi, organizing events, and fostering a decentralized internet ecosystem.

Mission

Our mission is to educate and empower people to take control of their digital lives, and to help them understand the benefits of Web3 technology. We aim to create a more open, inclusive internet that puts users first.

At ethcartagena.eth, we believe in the transformative power of blockchain technology and the Ethereum ecosystem. We understand that Ethereum is creating new foundations for the Internet of the future and the new financial era. As a community, we are committed to contributing to the growth and development of Ethereum and supporting its vision of a decentralized future.

We are passionate about promoting decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain technology. Our community welcomes people of all backgrounds and levels of knowledge, and our main focus is on adoption, education, research, and development.

We organize IRL events led by the local community in different parts of the region to include a more significant number of individuals and organizations in the web3 community. These spaces are essential in helping with education and new members.

We intend to organize workshops to maximize the potential of web3 tools. The events can be held in different languages and locations in Colombia to show practical uses.

Plan

  1. Education and Awareness:

Develop educational materials and online resources to help people understand the power of Web3 technology. This includes creating explainer videos, blog posts.

  1. Community Building:

Build a community of Web3 enthusiasts and advocates to promote the use of Web3 technology. This includes organizing events and meetups where people can come together to learn about Web3 and collaborate on projects.

  1. Partnerships and Collaboration:

Partner with other non-profit organizations, businesses, and industry leaders to build a more decentralized and user-centric internet. This includes collaborating on research projects, developing open-source software, and sharing best practices.

Actions

  • Organize a series of online webinars and workshops that cover topics such as Web3 basics, decentralized finance (DeFi), and decentralized applications (dApps).

  • Create a social media campaign that highlights the benefits of Web3 technology and encourages people to join the Web3 community.

  • Participate in industry conferences and events to promote the use of Web3 technology and network with other industry leaders.

To achieve this, we seek to identify and empower relationships that can facilitate this exchange to motivate the community to create an ecosystem around Web3 by promoting applications and services based on the Ethereum network. We can promote growth, share knowledge, discuss problems, and create valuable tools by supporting these initiatives.

Past Events

Cartagena Crypto Meet-up #1: On December 28th, the first meet-up in Cartagena, Colombia, was organized by part of the team of ensdaoglobal.eth. The topics revolved around how the ENS protocol works and how it is used for decentralized applications to create a conducive environment for community members and developers to interact, generate innovative ideas, and establish relationships that can lead to creating projects aligned with ENS.

Empowering NGOs through web3 adoption

The onboarding initiative in collaboration with web3beach is making significant progress with NGOs now having direct ownership over their digital identity, content, and assets through @ensdomains. Additionally, they have created projects on @gitcoin and established their @gitcoinpassport, which provides them with digital freedom from intermediaries, Financial.eth was a key local supporter in helping to facilitate an IRL meetup with participants.
