The non-profit data altruism foundation Podaruj Dane (Polish for "Donate Your Data Foundation") is Europe's first to establish a fair and successful medical data donation system.

Podaruj Dane leverages Data Lake's technology to enable Polish patients to complete KYC and sign a transaction on the Polygon public blockchain in order to donate anonymous medical data to ethical commercial research, in accordance with GDPR and the Data Governance Act.

Patients retain full control over their data and can track all operations involving them on-chain in real time, as well as revoke their consent at any time.

More than 10.000 consents on medical data have been collected in 2023 thanks to Podaruj Dane's physical presence in hospitals and online campaigns on websites like Medonet - the go-to site for Polish patients to access information about health and wellness - while we work hard every day to reach more and more patients.

The Foundation has the potential to scale, unlock, and source a much larger number of medical data because it is already integrated with a dozen large hospital and clinic chains that store the data of millions of patients, but yet they lack the consents and know-how to make such data treasure useful for medical research.

Podaruj Dane is addressing the data reproducibility crisis and the archaic data sharing practices in an effective manner. Researchers can finally fight bias and gain access to previously unavailable ethically sourced data sets thanks to Podaruj Dane.
