Introduction

Dr. Jelani Clarke is a Neuroimmunologist by training. He is an active proponent for open science and science literacy and has been a blockchain and web3 enthusiast since 2018. The melding of these passions has led him to build a career in the decentralized science (DeSci) space as an executive lead at DeSciWorld, a co-founder of the DeSci-focused media platform DeSci Peaks, and an active collaborator with a number of DeSci projects.

DeSciWorld activity

1. Steward for the April-May 2023 Gitcoin DeSci beta round. Host of a series of Twitter spaces showcasing and shilling DeSci round grantees.

2. Host of the DeSci Rising twitter series which takes place every Friday at 12pm ET and provides insights on team, mission, infrastructure and culture of DeSci projects listed on the DeSciWorld Dashboard.

3. Initiating and fostering relationships including collaborations with projects across the DeSci space.

4. Contributing or leading the organization of DeSci tracks at conferences including ethDenver and Synbiobeta.

5. DeSci outreach as a speaker/panelist at a number of web3 focused conferences and meet ups.

6. Coordinating initiatives and community infrastructure development at DeSciWorld.

7. Advising web3 and web2 projects regarding DeSci.

Activities at DeSci Peaks

1. Co-founder/ideator/host/coordinator of the DeSciPeaks series alongside Jonathan Starr.
