Lighthouse is a governance technology lab with a mission to make DAOs more accessible and inclusive.
We have several products with different purposes, but all of them are designed to help DAOs and other decentralized organizations make better decisions.
1. Native iOS/Android governance apps
Always free.
Lighthouse pulls data directly from the blockchain and sends it right to your inbox. You can create spaces around any token-related smart contract—ERC-20 tokens, ERC-721 NFTs, governance contracts, and more. The app is free for users to follow spaces and vote on proposals. If your group wants to unlock Lighthouse's advanced features, reach out to us to get started.

We also recently received a grant from SAFE DAO to add multisig support when voting. Due Q4 2024.

2. Communications platform for DAOs and on-chain communities
https://app.lighthouse.cx/
DAO leaders can use their EOA to send verified communications to their members. Members can use their EOA to receive verified communications from DAOs they are part of.
3. Signals Protocol
Our recent OSS (AGPL) contribution to expanding and innovating on metagovernance in on-chain communities.
- https://signals.testnet.lighthouse.cx/
A protocol for prioritising community objectives in on-chain organisations paired with an incentive mechanism.
TL;DR
- Members lock governance tokens (amount × interval) to propose initiatives.
- Boosted Weight: Longer lockups boost your initiative’s weight.
- Weight Decay: Weight decays back to the initial lock amount over time.
- Thresholds: Orgs configure proposal/acceptance thresholds.
- Contributions: Anyone can contribute to initiatives with on-chain conditions (e.g., acceptance before a timestamp).
Meta-governance
- Reduced Voting Supply: Locked governance tokens are removed from the voting pool.
- Empowering Smaller Holders: Smaller token holders can lock for longer periods to amplify their voice.
- Dynamic Priorities: Creates a ranked, on-chain priority board reflecting true community interests.
Incentives and Contributions
- Anyone can contribute/bribe to help get an inventive over the line.
- Incentive Splits: Contributions are divided (e.g., 5% fee, 30% to supporters, 65% to treasury).
A New Allocation Primitive?:
- External committees can fund projects directly through this system, enabling inverted capital allocation.
DeFi for DAOs?
We can issue bonds for locked tokens on an AMM to achieve a secondary market. Adds new dimensions to governance token utility.
Potential outcomes in SIGNALS
- Mitigates whale dominance by boosting smaller holders. Who are more incentives to band together and lock for longer periods.
- Transparent Priorities: Provides clear visibility into community-driven initiatives.
As builders, we’ve taken an applied research approach. We developed an MVP of the protocol during a hackathon with @RnDAO__ to gather feedback on our ideas.
Play with it and let us know what you think! We will be formalising this into a white paper (~Q4/Q1) and are open to collaborators.
