Monas is a Decentralized Personal Data Store. Monas expresses complex and flexible access controls by building core features such as DID (Decentralized Identifier), a cryptographic data structure called Cryptree, and a Peer to Peer network. Additionally, by combining the ability to save hash values (data states) on the blockchain with a signature function, we maintain the authenticity of data. This feature enables the realization of verifiable data. It allows verification of whether the data was generated by the user themselves, friends, the government, other platforms, or applications, thereby ensuring high authenticity.
Furthermore, Monas creates privacy and autonomy by enabling the creation of Personal spaces on the Web space. This allows users to reflect their intentions against technology and platforms. By enabling users to manage their data, not only limited platforms but all platforms can access the data controlled by the users. This means interoperability between different platforms. This, along with the realization of the Semantic Web and Linked Open Data as advocated by Tim Berners-Lee, creates Personal spaces. As a result, data is connected not by lines but by dotted lines, which change to solid lines or remain as dotted lines according to the user's will. Monas aims to realize a new Data Web.
Current Status:
We are a core group of three, progressing the development while discussing with friends and receiving help with the development. Currently, we are developing core functions such as Cryptree and the ability to save states on the blockchain. We plan to work on DID compatibility within this year.
