Developed a widget for exchanging ETH for mpETH on Arbitrum via a liquidity pool bridged from Mainnet, enhancing Meta Pool staking on NEAR's Blockchain Operating System.

Before

With the intention of providing multiple possibilities to participants who want to stake in Meta Pool, the Open Web Academy team has developed a widget in the Blockchain Operating System (BOS) that allows exchanging ETH on the Arbitrum network for mpETH. This is possible thanks to a liquidity pool of mpETH on Ethereum Mainnet that was bridged to layer 2: Arbitrum.

Why BOS?

The BOS widget represents an uncensorable and persistent space over time by containing frontend code stamped on the NEAR Protocol chain, thus allowing a new communication channel for Meta Pool staking.

B.O.S.

A BOS helps everyone learn, build, and grow using any blockchain. Here, developers and all kinds of creators can easily deploy their own dApps with on-chain frontend code. The main benefits are in terms of accessibility, security, and composability.

This new approach leverages the unique capabilities of NEAR's asynchronous runtime to enable not only censorship resistance, but also verification + audit-ability. Furthermore, data from various blockchains can live in reusable components, available for anyone to inspect.

For example, a team building on Ethereum can use the BOS to give access to users on Ethereum and others on NEAR. Give it a try at bos.gg

Proposal

The Open Web Academy team is committed to growing the staking options on layer 2, to maintaining and updating the widget as well as constant promotion in an indefinite period of time so that its user traffic is greater. Specific activities:

  • Debug code
  • Explore connecting other ETH layers for easy staking
  • Provide liquidity to the necessary pools mpETH <> Another Token
  • Incorporate screens to show staking information in Arbitrum
