The promise of Web3 to provide inclusive and equitable access to reach new creative heights brought about an influx of users. Established creatives with strong social media presences dominate the headlines and sales within the crypto community. In contrast, those interested in forging a new path toward financial and creative freedom remain forgotten and unseen. The potential to reimagine socio-economic institutions to benefit the majority and not the few is what UNDRGRND intends to bring to the Superchain.

UNDRGRND utilizes innovative technology to foster an ecosystem that incentivizes the discovery of small, independent creators, diversifying stagnant social feeds ruled by engagement farming, algorithms, and corporate profits. The development will focus on automating incentive rewards and transitioning and growing our existing audience through Pargraph.xyz, Fabric, and custom Frames for Farcaster. Funding will be allocated to milestones to show proof of concept.

Objective

UNDRGRND aims to bring our diverse, grassroots community to the broader Superchain ecosystem to further develop of commitment to building bottom up. By utilizing open-source tooling and focusing on cultivating the next generation of art collectors, and music and film aficionados we can begin to build the necessary social infrastructure required for blockchain technology to become a mainstream success.

Utilizing the broad spectrum of Optimism roll-up technology and platforms, UNDRGRND will bring in unique use cases that provide crucial support for genuine expression that helps create real-life use cases for this innovative renaissance.

Building bottom-up and seeking out ideas to maintain the momentum towards a more equitable future that serves to protect the common good through collaboration on public goods will foster the ethos of Web3 that brings in optimistic individuals and creators.

Milestones

Transition: Initial funding will be allocated towards bridging the UNDRGRND community to ensure seamless integration with Optimism and expansion of our team's creative capabilities on platforms like Farcaster, Fabric and Paragraph.xyz. This will also include bridging our ERC-20 token GRND to Optimism.

Continent Creation: Resources for content creation (e.g. podcasts, articles, videos) will be allocated towards content highlighting smaller, relatively unknown creators within the Optimism Superchain ecosystem to grow our community and bring awareness to UNDRGRND’s mission and vision.

Frame Development and Engagement: A significant portion of the funds will go towards the development and launch of custom Farcaster frames to incentivize engagement with content creation to offer rewards beyond tipping with DEGEN and enhance the distribution of our ERC-20 token GRND.

These milestones will create a proper introduction and proof of concept to the broader idea that is the UNDRGRND ecosystem that rewards collectors and tastemakers for sharing their discoveries to enhance the support for web3 creators and highlight the technical capabilities of the Optimism Superchain

Many artists and creatives came into the web3 ecosystem believing that their path to riches was as simple as mint, share and sell. Creators with larger platforms were able to market themselves and provide their own launching pad for the monetization of their craft. However, there remains a lack of proper social infrastructure of appreciaters, fans, taste-makers, and projects focused on the discovery of smaller artists that require support to reach a broader audience. UNDRGRND, provides the vital context, support and built-in audience to give these artists a launching pad into the established realm of web3 creators that have better access to larger platforms and marketing opportunities.

Incentivize Engagement, Not Engagement Farming

We emphasize thoughtful discussions by rewarding engaging conversation that pushes the conversation beyond emojis and shallow acronyms. Creative mediums provoke thoughts and spark discussions which develop communities and create personal meaningful connections. For decades individuals have provided this service free to platforms with little meaningful benefit. UNDRGRND knows how to develop genuine, meaningful communities and understands that there is a human cost that should be rewarded and encouraged.

The Farcaster community understands the broad concept of rewarding contributing members. UNDRGRND will expand on this concept by utilizing frame integration. Other tools like Fabric will help utilize the power of the community to share in the recruitment of audience members and share in any monetization while applying to Pods.media will provide another avenue to incentivize engagement.
