Venture Miner Academy offers free bootcamps transitioning Web2 devs to Web3, focusing on expanding global reach, improving hackathon participation, developing industry partnerships, and continuously enhancing its hands-on educational model.

Venture Miner Academy

Venture Miner Academy is an education branch that aims to foster the development of new Web3 around the world.

We believe that technology we use is a reflect of the minds that built it, and thus we aim to deliver proper technical education for contributing in shaping a better future for those industries.

Free bootcamps for onboarding Web2 devs to Web3 🚀

We're proud to be part of the history of more than 1000 web students that our team have educated over the last few years. Some of these talents have built amazing projects, won hackathons, got employed in big protocols and are contributing to the future of Web3 protocols.

This year we have started participating in hackathons around the globe to prepare local students to participate and build with more confidence. Our first prototype was before ETHGlobal Lisbon, where we enabled 14 portuguese students to properly participate in the event:

  • 2 groups of students without any previous web3 experience could win prizes at the event 🔥
  • 3 projects kept building after the bootcamp 🕶
  • 2 students got a job in web3 projects 💼

Also we've hosted the Blocks and Buns held at Paris from July 24 to July 26 where 21 developers and students participated to learn about tools, techniques and applications that can greatly enhance their productivity and quality in the projects they are building. By the beginning of August we gave two free workshops at the Future of Blockchain University Hackathon by Encode Club. This was an inspiring moment for students to explore the web3 universe!

We are happy to have contributed by introducing solidity and other web3 concepts to these brilliant university talents 🚀

We're looking for funds to participate in more and more events, teaching more local students and communities to code with Web3 tools and protocols.

Objectives

  1. Expand the reach of Venture Miner Academy to more students around the world, with a focus on underrepresented communities in the Web3 industry.
  2. Increase the number of students participating in hackathons and other technical events, with the goal of improving their skills and confidence in building Web3 projects.
  3. Develop partnerships with local organizations and educational institutions to provide more opportunities for students to learn and apply their skills in real-world projects and hackathons.
  4. Track the success of Venture Miner Academy alumni, including their contributions to the Web3 industry, employment in top companies, and participation in technical events.
  5. Continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods of Venture Miner Academy to ensure that students receive the most up-to-date and relevant education in Web3 technology.
  6. AI Technology experimentation for including topics like LLMs and Stable Diffusion for future bootcamps.

Educational Model

Currently, the Bootcamps operated by Venture Miner Academy have a focus on a hands-on zero-to-hero approach:

  • Hands-on approach: The bootcamp uses a hands-on approach to teaching, with short iteration cycles that allow students to quickly see the results of their work and receive feedback. This approach helps to keep students engaged and motivated, and can improve their chances of success by providing them with practical experience in Web3 development.
  • Comprehensive curriculum: The bootcamp covers a wide range of topics, including setting up a development environment, writing and testing smart contracts, using libraries such as Ethers and Typechain, and optimizing for gas and security. By providing students with a thorough understanding of these topics, the bootcamp can improve their chances of success by preparing them to tackle more advanced projects.
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD): The bootcamp emphasizes the use of TDD, which involves writing tests for code before writing the code itself. This approach helps students to think critically about the functionality of their code and ensures that it meets the desired specifications. By teaching students to use TDD, the bootcamp can improve their chances of success by helping them to develop good coding habits and write more reliable code.
  • Focus on best practices: In addition to teaching technical skills, the bootcamp also focuses on teaching best practices in Web3 development, such as gas optimization and security. By emphasizing the importance of these practices, the bootcamp can improve students’ chances of success by helping them to write code that is efficient, secure, and reliable.

We aim to expand that model with collaboration from the community by doing key partnerships. To improve our model we aim to:

  • Partner with leading companies and protocols in the Web3 industry to provide students with access to cutting-edge technology and resources, as well as opportunities for internships, mentorship, and employment.
  • Collaborate with hackathons and other technical events to provide students with opportunities to showcase their skills, network with industry professionals, and receive feedback on their projects.
  • Develop custom training programs in partnership with companies and protocols to meet their specific needs and help prepare students for careers in the Web3 industry.
  • Establish a network of alumni and industry professionals to provide ongoing support, mentorship, and networking opportunities for students as they pursue careers in the Web3 industry.
  • Establish a network of projects and potential investors/supporters to provide networking opportunities to projects with great potential but that are in less represented communities in the Web3 industry.
