Web3-native platform Younergy Crypto funds and tokenizes solar projects, offering YC tokens and carbon offsets from solar installations, with initial focus on European expansion and open-sourcing code for community involvement.

Younergy Crypto is a web3-native solution to fund more solar to go greener. The protocol tokenizes both revenue share and carbon value from newly funded solar projects with YC token.

The YC Community can also mint carbon offsets from existing solar projects under management of Younergy. Younergy.ch is a solar-as-a-service provider from Switzerland, founded in 2015 and scaling into Europe since 2021: Spain, Portugal, no also in Germany, with over 1500 solar projects.

The offsetters of the Limited Edition of these YCo2 tokens that are currently available from 57 solar projects on UK school roofs. These high quality carbon credits showcase the technological feasibility of high-resolution time- and location based carbon credits from solar. The offsetters from these 2600t worth of CO2 avoided will be rewarded with YC tokens, which signify that the revenues from offsets went to protocol maintenance and to funding more solar through YC.

We have the YCo2 NFT contract deployed on the Gnosis Chain since December 2022. The YC token and revenue share token contracts require legal engineering and a first live test case with refinance. All 3 contracts of v1 had a first audited in March 2023 - using the initial revenue from the offsets!

So yc.finance can be a pure community play. For that we need the word to spread, and active offsetters giving feedback on what we can improve. Participating in the Climate Round will certainly help.

The grant DAI will be used to open source more of the code, and deploy a test version of YC token and revenue share on Gnosis Chain.
