0xEdu is the first opensource K-12 curriculum, teaching methodology and decentralized school template in the world. Its curriculum will be maintained by educators collaborating virtually and asynchronously, and its teaching methodology is based on nurturing soft skills and entrepreneurial thinking.

0xEdu will create a single on-site lab school in Los Angeles, California to serve as the engine behind curriculum creation, and the proof-of-concept behind the overarching philosophy of 0xEdu.

The 0xEdu team is comprised of stellar teachers, administrators, degens, quantitative psychologists and social and emotional learning experts. The team believes that education is long overdue for a rebirth.

Students matriculating from 0xEdu will be fluent in multiple programming languages as a condition of graduation. They will know how to design, deploy and maintain a crypto project via a testnet. They will be equipped to tackle any project they wish to, and will get the expert guidance needed to bring their concept to market.

--The story so far--

In 2022, we began exploring how to open a school that is both in-person but allows for its curriculum to spread out to every corner of the globe. Our solution was to treat the school curriculum and methodology like a decentralized network of educators making it their own.

In September of 2022, we began exploring existing schools that may want to take part in this project. We found a school that did not yet have an Innovation Space (a place where students learn by project-based learning, one of the hallmarks of 0xEdu), which agreed to let us build and create a space in their building.

This process has been taking place for the past several months, and the lab was furnished and started operating in March. The current goal is to grow the lab and to introduce people to the idea of this teaching methodology existing on its own, as a free standing school, while we raise funds. Once the funds are raised, we can replicate our success from this lab in an in-person setting, hopefully bringing with us some momentum and excitement from this small pilot program.

We anticipate needing at least $200,000 to start the freestanding school, and to ensure its existence for the first several months. From there, we hope that tuition fees and further fundraising can keep the school growing and functional. At the moment, all of our funds have come from donors who believe in the program and the need for the reinvention of education. As web3 is upon us, the world is ever more changing rapidly, so we hope by focusing much of the school's tech department around blockchain literacy, how to use AI and how to understand new tech as it emerges, we are engendering learning that equips our students for the world of today and tomorrow.
