AGRii DAO aims to foster innovation in agronomy and take agroecology to scale for the benefits of all people by empowering family farmers and university groups through resources. It is an open platform for proposals that are voted upon by AGRii token holders.

Our core mission is to establish an action-oriented collaboration between farmers and local research centers that will deliver contextual solutions to local problems and bring a human-centered perspective to innovation efforts. As well as increased awareness about agroecology and its benefits in achieving sustainable agricultural and food systems.

The Challenge

Today's food and agriculture systems fail to deliver sustainable development for all. None of the approaches so far have succeeded in transforming these systems because they have not addressed the root causes of hunger, poverty, and inequality. Farmers have never been placed at the center of co-innovation systems, and they often grow crops solely for survival rather than with a sense of purpose.Critical economic barriers prevent them from adopting new agricultural practices, and they lack of access to credit and funding. Inefficient delivery of allocated funds is also a major issue. There is a critical need in investments in research and development. As well as shift in cultural values that can play a significant role in shaping policies and decision-making.

The solution

AGRiiDAO is an open cooperative that anyone can join, with the goal of supporting and financing on- farm projects that combine research and innovation with indigenous knowledge and practices. As well as help increased awareness about agroecology and its benefits in achieving sustainable agricultural and food systems. The AGRii DAO collects data, co-develops IP with researchers, grows a portfolio of assets represented as IP-NFTs while funded projects provide quantified values that are extremely important for our future.

We are a group of three individuals with diverse background and experiences, bringing unique perspectives from different walks of life. Our origin may differ, but our shared passion and vision for the future unites us in our mission to create positive changes.

Ewelina is an agro-economist with experience from universities and research institutions in food security, from the plant level to diet and nutrient content. She has authored or co-authored publications on issues related to food security and has experience in network building and global collaboration. She has been involved in the global network for food security, which is led by Norway in collaboration with the UN. Ewelina is passionate about the potential of blockchain technology and its ability to transform various industries, including agriculture. Her dream is to make sustainable food system a reality and motivate people to get involved in sustainable food production, consumption, and living. By connecting her passion with experience, she believes she can play an active role in creating a future she invision and make a positive difference in the world.

Truls is a block-chain enthusiast, entrepreneur, designer and runs his own small farm. With a thorough understanding of holistic design and meeting forms, and a fearless approach to the subject, Truls has created strong brands for international and national players, designed award-winning urban spaces and created interiors for television. During its many years, Truls has worked on a number of interdisciplinary projects in technology, architecture and product design, and was one of the first to create virtual decentralized workplaces and VR/metaverse.

Asbjørn Riddervold is a fullstack developer with extensive experience in Ethereum and Web3. He was a key contributor to the development of a shareholder ledger platform on Ethereum for the Norwegian Business Registry (Brønnøysundregistrene), which aimed to promote transparency and efficiency. Asbjørn is dedicated to building decentralized applications that contribute to public goods and a more fair and distributed future. With a deep understanding of smart contracts, Solidity, and decentralized applications, Asbjørn is a skilled problem solver who is optimistic about the potential of technology to make a positive impact on the world. His expertise in Fullstack development, combined with his passion for creating a better future, make him a valuable asset to any team seeking to build decentralized applications that promote fairness, openness, and collaboration.
