Promote blockchain education in Brazilian schools to empower students and teachers with Web3 and ReFi knowledge, impacting over 400 participants through workshops and partnerships.

The Project

Blockchain na Escola (BnE) stands to promote collaboration and decentralization through blockchain education, empowering schools and students to walk the path of regeneration.

It is the first and most successful educational initiative that brings Web3 content through the Regenerative Finance (ReFi) lens to regular public schools in Brazil. This endeavor expands Web3 access to underserved communities, offering them hope and the technological tools to build a better future.

We envision a future where disseminated training in regenerative technologies in schools will transform society through a decentralized and collaborative approach. That way, innovation, and technology converge to transform traditional classrooms and empower underserved communities.

During the first semester of 2023, we conducted 20 workshops, impacting 400+ students and 20+ teachers. Student NPS: 59, Satisfaction (Top2Box): 79. Detailed report

  • Our core team led 19 student workshops, 5 teacher workshops and 3 events (e.g., talks, stand) in 7 public schools in Salvador and Lauro de Freitas, Bahia.
  • Our Lawyer and Regional Lead @Verb4l led workshops in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in partnership with “Eu Amo Minha Quebrada,” a social initiative dedicated to providing education for the community in the Morro do Papagaio favela.
  • Verber also partnered with Detrash to sponsor the “Recicla Kids” recycling initiative, where children learned about ReFi through practical engagement.
  • We wrapped up the semester by taking our workshop to Rio de Janeiro through our partnership with the Educar+ social movement, which provides education in the Morro do Chapadão favela.

We also spoke about ReFi at high-profile events, such as NFT Brasil, SEBRAE’s Bahia Expo and at the Complexo de Suape’s Environment Week.

What We're Building

For the second semester, we're focused on the following priorities:

  • Building an educational dapp to improve the learning experience for students and teachers and add on-chain tracking from their journey
  • Creating a more robust educational track, which will feature STEM and PBL methodologies to develop ReFi building skills among students
  • Finding international partnerships to have cultural exchanges between students from Brazil and abroad
  • Decentralizing our organization using Target Teal's O2 framework
