DeSci Youths is on a mission to nurture and empower the next generation of citizen scientists, particularly in regions facing scientific brain drain, by onboarding them into the world of Decentralized Science (DeSci). We will showcase DeSci projects, provide an onboarding space, and conduct campus tours in African universities to evangelize the potential of web 3 technologies and their impact on scientific research.

Scientific brain drain is a pressing issue in many regions, particularly in the global south. Talented young scientists often leave their home countries in search of better opportunities elsewhere, leading to a loss of valuable talent and expertise. Additionally, the attention economy poses a threat to meaningful engagement with scientific research, as people are constantly bombarded with distractions and shallow content. We need to address these challenges by providing a platform for young scientists to connect with impactful projects and foster a sense of community.

By onboarding young scientists into Decentralized Science, we will empower them to contribute to cutting-edge research and innovation within their own communities. Through our platform, they will discover, connect with, and support impactful projects that leverage web 3 technologies for good. On our Discord server, we have created a space, ( De-Wellpunk Space) for healing and bonding around these projects while also modeling digital wellbeing practices in the web 3 space. Discord link - ( https://discord.gg/jFYzFkEh ) Our campus tours in African universities will raise awareness about DeSci and ReFi and inspire high school students to pursue careers in science and technology, we shall also educate them about digital wellbeing practices to prepare them for web 3.
