Ecofrontiers is a Web3 research and advocacy program to unlock the value of nature. Next to the advising and incubation of green crypto projects, the Ecofrontiers team is writing the Green Crypto Handbook, detailing the mechanisms of green (crypto)-asset production.

This grant aims to support the Green Crypto Handbook as well as Ecofrontiers’ advocacy work.

The Green Crypto Handbook 📖

In 2023, the White House presented its strategy to harness the potential of natural capital assets, recognizing their importance to address environmental challenges and achieve sustainable development goals. Nonetheless, government approaches to natural capital asset production are still top-down, obscure, and traditional, lacking transparency and reliable data. By leveraging Web3 technologies, Ecofrontiers aims to redefine the way natural capital assets are approached, produced, and utilized.

The Green Crypto Handbook is a ~350-page tome that demonstrates real solutions for the mass production of natural capital through the use of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. With it, we intend to convince policy-makers and impact investment institutions to grow the nascent Web3 green crypto sector, while also steering an ecosystem of new projects towards the innovation frontier of green asset design.

We’ve published two sample chapters accessible to all for free on Mirror:

Outputs 💪

The grant work will help support the following concrete outputs, from most to less likely depending on donations:

  • Conduct editorial work required to finish the Green Crypto Handbook (potential hiring of a professional editor)
  • Search of value-aligned publishing house
  • Construct and conduct publication strategy (sending book to key personalities, advertising, book launch event…)
