Growecosystems is a regenDAO that aims to create a collaborative network of users who engage in campaigns of environmental regeneration, using digital tools, financial and human resources to map, diagnose, manage and monitor degraded areas by the invasion of exotic species, pollution or deforestation, collect informations on native specie, participation in agroforestry and agroecology projects .

Growecosystems aims to contribute to the restoration and conservation of biodiversity, ecosystems, and environmental services, as well as to environmental education, social innovation, and sustainability. Our primary focus is on providing a regenerative data platform that offers more accurate and locally relevant data to refine existing public datasets. Unlike many competing initiatives that rely solely on Remote Sensing data from satellites, which can often be imprecise for small-scale areas, our platform is designed to support local actions at the municipal and landscape scale.

Growecosystems uses Charmverse as a tool for governance and reward distribution, where users can choose one of three roles: explorer, alchemist or regen agent. Each role has its own functions, responsibilities and benefits, as described on the platform. Users can participate in four campaigns of environmental regeneration, using tools and resources provided by the platform. The campaigns are:

• Mapping for suppression of invasive species in APPs throughout Brazil
• Survey of information on native species
• Mapping of waste collection and treatment
• Participation in planting, agroforestry and agroecology projects

Users receive tokens (GROW) for their contribution in the campaigns, according to the criteria and metrics established by the platform. Users can also use or exchange the tokens for other digital or fiduciary assets, according to the rules and limitations established by the platform and according to the supply and demand of the market. Users can also express their opinions, suggestions and criticisms about the platform, respecting diversity, ethics and civility.

Growecosystems is seeking a gitcoin grant to develop and launch the platform, as well as to fund the campaigns of environmental regeneration. The grant will be used to cover the costs of development, testing, launching and promotion of the platform, as well as the costs of data collection, analysis, intervention and monitoring. The grant will also be used to reward the users who participate in the campaigns, as well as to incentivize and recognize the users who score the most points in each campaign.

Funding Requirements and Allocation:

For the initial 3-month period, we are requesting $3,000 in fiduciary resources to support the activities of Growecosystems. This allocation will be divided among various sectors to ensure an efficient and effective use of resources:

Regenerative Campaigns: A significant portion of the funds (approximately 40%) will be allocated to support the regenerative campaigns, which involve activities related to species invasion suppression, native species data collection, waste management mapping, and regeneration-focused mutirões. These campaigns are at the core of our mission and require substantial resources to carry out effectively.

Platform Development: Approximately 25% of the funds will be directed toward platform development. This includes ongoing maintenance, technical enhancements, and ensuring the platform's scalability to support a growing community.

Community Engagement: About 20% of the resources will be invested in community engagement efforts. This covers outreach activities, educational content creation, and support for users and contributors.

Monitoring and Evaluation: The remaining 15% will be allocated for the critical aspect of monitoring and evaluating the impact of our initiatives. This includes both real-world and digital assessment components.

Impact Evaluation:

We take impact evaluation seriously and have established a comprehensive approach to measure our contributions in both real-world and digital contexts:

Real-World Impact: We will employ a combination of quantitative and qualitative assessments to measure the outcomes of our regenerative campaigns. These include monitoring the ecological changes in areas affected by our campaigns, tracking the adoption of regenerative practices, and evaluating the success of mutirões.

Digital Impact: On the digital front, we will use data analytics to gauge the reach, engagement, and effectiveness and visibility of our campaigns. We will track user engagement, content consumption, creation and sharing. Additionally, we will evaluate the impact of our web3 onboarding activities, in driving user participation in regenerative initiatives and in community growth.
