My regen journey started in 2021 first as a donor, later I was onboarded to MMM, where my role included content creation and the production of a web3-based card game. Alongside this, I contributed to the organization of online events (memepaloozas) and provided prizes in the form of NFTs. https://etherscan.io/tx/0x2a6e13068bcb2f78d09595a656ece23352feae3ad064d08ec644968790cbd944 https://etherscan.io/tx/0xfa87de87e38add3ec9d4d31257f3e82f069256374bfc6661613fed4e091082e6 https://etherscan.io/tx/0x78c5c778ef5a9c177127ef5f71fc51043cdcdf7c625ecd0dfc45bb073b2c7cb6
My off-duty content can be found in the discords meme channel, occasionally getting picked up and gaining some traction on Twitter. https://twitter.com/kbw/status/1762175346957295946 https://twitter.com/gitcoin/status/1727790506439320021
The card game, initially conceived as a promotional gift, held promise as a potential revenue stream and a platform for collaborating/working with different artists, helping them to showcase their work. Changes were still planned and necessary but after some unfortunate circumstances, it was put on hold during the bear market. https://twitter.com/owocki/status/1494898367536717828 https://twitter.com/notannelisa/status/1621601759897726976
Recent contributions Since the last citizens round, I've continued to work on another card game, which revolves around explaining quadratic funding, sybil attacks, and sybil defense mechanisms in a fun and simple way, trying to convey what they are and how they function, while also bringing the subject closer to a broader audience. The gameplay may remind of a blend of Uno and the card game "liar" (also known as "cheat") and the progress can be found here: https://www.figma.com/file/lIsd28yrR1neIALFuqw8Rh/MMM?type=design&node-id=10641-105343&mode=design&t=4sTTH0Ol881Z472Z-0
Invested time has been directed towards: Refining and developing rules Creating art with the assistance of AI Conducting playtests
Given that the game has not been released yet, its impact is not possible to measure. However, I strongly believe that there is a place for such games within the community and the wider web3 space, a belief reinforced and also maybe confirmed by the success of similar endeavours in the field.
At the same time, I started dabbling in game development, first with a Gitcoin themed Pacman game, made with the help of a youtube tutorial, where pacman is the Gitcoin logo, the ghosts are Sybil attackers and you get to chase them after eating a Gitcoin Passport logo. A short clip of the working version can be found in the Discords memes channel and I have the game available if anyone wants to test it. The development was just for practice so I can not say it made an impact, but maybe a refined version could be featured on the passport website in some way or given out in the form of a small handheld gaming device as a promotional gag. You can find the tutorial and game assets here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CncJvOEM3OA https://www.figma.com/file/lIsd28yrR1neIALFuqw8Rh/MMM?type=design&node-id=11271-7054&mode=design&t=RdL4zbs02Hg4eDKP-0
Next on the list is a 2d platformer or a real-time strategy game (got ideas for both but still deciding cause of the difficulty level. Would prefer to go with the strategy game but the 2d platformer is an easier start and i already have some assets for it) that will revolve around web3 and the mythology and lore created by the Gitcoin community in the past few years. The purpose is to promote public goods funding, regen values, Gitcoin and life in web3 in a unique way.
Invested time has been directed towards: Lore and world building (exists mostly in the form of notes) Asset creation (sketches, art (AI), in-game assets) Coding (mostly trying to figure out why things aren't working as intended)
The whole project is a web3 based fantasy world and will be released in a variety of different media (art, comics, games (tabletop and pc)), sooner or later it would probably also include a physical card game, but given that it is still in the development phase, I would prefer to unveil the progress once at least part of it has reached a state of readiness for release. I have to add here that I don't know how much I've been working on it cause its more of a passion project since i started at Gitcoin. At the same time I'm still learning how to code so game design is a slow process.
Lastly, I created a few animation samples for NFTs in blender for s18/s19 contributors, which didn't get used (was a bit conflicting cause contributors would still have to pay for the minting cost), but maybe similar NFTs could create additional revenue for public goods in the future. A quick overview of the animations can be found here: https://www.figma.com/file/lIsd28yrR1neIALFuqw8Rh/MMM?type=design&node-id=11882-8129&mode=design&t=Z5SLBZSDN2pqhdhC-0
P.S. Not looking for funding for this but if any builder has some useful tips or wants to team up on an NFT project feel free to DM me on discord so we can chat. Its an NFT collection that would be a bit of a satire on the state of NFTs while at the same time providing a proof of identity use case (-ish). I came to the testing phase twice but it got stuck there. Any profits would be split equally and a fair/equal part would go towards supporting public goods.
