KUMO is the MakerDAO for nature-based assets. By creating a nature-backed stablecoin, we’re turning the mere act of owning a dollar into climate action.

Our product is composed of two key components:

• KUSD - the only 100% nature-backed stablecoin. KUSD is an over-collateralized stablecoin backed exclusively by nature based assets (NBA) like carbon credits and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
• KUMO borrowing protocol: KUMO enables project developers to draw interest-free loans against their carbon tokens, providing a unique solution to pre-finance their climate projects.

In the Alpha Round, KUMO received funding which was utilized for product development and team compensation. With the MVP built and tested, and promising results from pilot customers, KUMO is now seeking additional funding to further its mission of integrating climate finance into the fabric of our economy.

What we’ve achieved ✅

The alpha round allowed us to develop, test and refine our platform, establish initial partnerships, and gain valuable insights from users.

With your support, we have achieved the following milestones since the alpha round:

• Built a core team of 7 individuals
• Completed development and testing of the Alpha version of the KUMO dApp
• Incorporated feedback from 70 community testers of our dApp
• Secured agreements to work with 5 pilot customers (project developers & impact investors)
• Secured $1m in Total Value Locked (TVL) from liquidity providers

What’s coming up - our roadmap 🛣️

• Product: Following beta testing and external security audits, we’re targeting the public launch of v1 of the KUMO dApp for late Q2. In addition, we have a number of exciting developments lined up, including a price feed module and integrations into other ReFi applications.
• Protocol Growth: We’re targeting $5m in TVL of Nature-Backed Assets in our protocol prior to launch. In addition, we’re seeking to grow the supply of KUSD to 10m and set aside funds to ensure liquidity for project developers & corporate purchasers using our platform.
• Marketing: As part of growing the awareness of KUMO, we will be participating in ReFi and relevant carbon market events. We also seek to further bolster our online presence, content creation, and social media presence.
