Lighthouse is a platform for verified project communications.
By creating a secure and transparent communication channel we better protect users from malicious actors and improve the user experience for new participants.
TL;DR

Problems observed
Decentralized communities are often plagued by bad actors who impersonate project leaders and send fake messages to members. Social accounts are often compromised. This often leads to drained wallets, stolen funds or NFTs leaving the new user a bad impression of the space.
Additionally, community leaders often struggle to engage with members and increase participation in governance. This is because existing communication channels are not designed for decentralized communities and lack the necessary features to support them.
And finally as the number of communities grow, it becomes increasingly difficult for members to keep track of all the different channels and events. This leads to missed opportunities and a poor user experience.

Solution
By leveraging Ethereum primitives we can reduce the surface area for malicious actors to operate by creating a tamper proof communication channel.
Clients can trustlessly consume this information and display it in a way that is relevant to them.
Lighthouse's key features include:
- Anon friendly, Preserve privacy by not having to disclose emails and phone numbers
- MultiSig friendly, Require multiple signers to publish messages
- Targeted messaging based on token requirements
- Automating repetitive workflows:
- Voting with reminders (before during and after)
- Events (online + IRL) with reminders (before during and after)
The platform guarantees message authenticity through cryptographic signatures, preventing imposters from sending messages to the community. It also stores messages on IPFS or Arweave, creating immutable on-chain records that ensure accountability for project leaders.
Roadmap
Done
- [x] Create a Portal for project to easily import and configure their communities
- [x] Create a native mobile app for community members to receive messages
- [x] Research underlying cryptographic primitives https://github.com/0xLighthouse/eth-lisbon/tree/main
- [x] Website
- [x] Collect feedback from community members and project leaders
Upcoming
- [ ] Generate awareness and onboard communities
- [ ] Gather feedback and iterate on the product
Research questions
- What implications are there if projects/news is published in a trustless manner?
- Can we discover new ways to explore how information is propagated?
- How can we align the classification of information so it can be easily consumed by machines?
- What do trustless recommendations look like?
