Grant-funded initiative to train 100+ indie artists in Web3/NFTs, creating music NFTs, and launching a subscription-based music streaming service.

Music platform Mostrodarte is onboarding more than 100 non-Web3 indie artists into the world of NFTs and Web3 through a comprehensive training program. The funds from this grant will go towards training, creating their first NFT, kickstarting the artists' web3 journey and expanding their communities.

Problem:

Music NFTs are key to an artist’s web3 journey however many indie artists lack the knowledge and resources to enter the web3 space, hindering their ability to leverage NFTs for their music.

Solution:

Mostrodarte will use the funds from this grant towards training a minimum of 100 artists, providing them with the skills to create and launch their music NFTs and grow their web3 communities.

Our Status:

  • We’ve developed a detailed plan to onboard and train artists in web3 practices: a one-week course that will give the artist access, tools and support.
  • We’re establishing partnerships with Web3 experts (including from SheFi!) who are experienced with other music NFT platforms like Sound.xyz to facilitate training.

Plans for Funding:

Funds will go towards onboarding a minimum of 100 indie artists into Web3 through training sessions. We will launch a call for artists worldwide to apply for the program. The artists will be selected based on criteria including metrics like community engagement, across online platforms and IRL. All music styles are welcome.

Training Program Details:

  • 5-hour online course over one to two weeks.
  • Each artist commits to producing one music NFT.
  • Onboarding, training and preparation of the NFT and marketing will take approximately 1 month for each batch of 25 artists at a time. This grant therefore covers a 4-month project (4 months x 25 artists). We intend to keep onboarding more artists continually.

Other Funding:

There is no other funding at this time. The grant will solely fund the onboarding and training budget.

Roadmap:

  • Q1 2024 : we onboard and train 100 artists to release exclusive NFTs.
  • Q2 2024: With the 100+ music NFTs released, we will establish the subscription-based music streaming service on Mostrodarte, in order to also generate monthly streaming income for the artists on the platform.

Impact:

Receiving this grant will pave the way for more indie artists to explore web3, creating community-building through NFTs as well as a new income source, with the paid streaming service that we will use the music NFTs to establish.

How have you added value to the SheFi community?

From Kim, the founder of Mostrodarte and proud SheFier (cohort 9): "Besides breaking bread with my local Parisiennes SheFiers, I’ve prioritized looking within the SheFi community to hire trainers for this artist training program, and so far, there are two SheFiers who have helped artists into Web3 and are interested to join up!!!”
