MUC.xyz is the original and leading Web3 community builder and Web3 think tank in Munich, Germany, which is Europe’s largest innovation and deep tech ecosystem. We are asking for a Gitcoin Grant to 10x Munich’s Web3 community and create impactful outcomes within 12 month. Specifically, we want to implement the following:
- Host 8 Web3 Meetups to connect, inspire and educate.
- Update our MUC.xyz homepage to show outcomes and successes.
- Manage and improve our social media presence to engage with community members.
- Build partnerships to accelerate the implementation of ideas.
- Promote Web3 and Gitcoin in Munich to establish a home for Munich’s Web3 community.
- Pay the expenses for our planned activities.
What is MUC.xyz and why is Munich the place for Web3?
With 3 major dedicated Web3 events since May 2022 and several meet-ups, MUC.xyz is the original and leading Web3 community builder and Web3 think tank in Munich. From the beginning we brought together start-ups, VCs, politicians, students, academic and industry leaders as well as OGs in Munich, Germany, which is Europe’s largest innovation and deep tech ecosystem. All our activities were only possible through the collaboration with our ecosystem partners. In particular UTUM, TUM Venture Labs, Founders@UniBw, Wayra Germany, TUM Blockchain Club, 1E9, TBB, PretzelDAO and ZOLLHOF are worth mentioning here.

For what will the grant be used?
We are asking for a Gitcoin Grant to scale Munich’s Web3 community and 10x the activities and the outcome within a 12 month period of time. Specifically, we want to implement the following:
- Host 8 Web3 Meetups, wether at Wayra Germany, Werk1 or UnternehmerTUM on specific web3 topics like (Industrial) Metaverse, GovTech, DAOs, innovation or regulation to connect, inspire and educate.
- Update our MUC.xyz homepage to show outcomes and successes.
- Manage and improve our social media presence to engage with community members.
- Build partnerships to accelerate the implementation of ideas.
- Promote Web3 and Gitcoin in Munich to establish a home for Munich’s Web3 community.
- Pay the expenses for our planned activities (see below).
Who is behind MUC.xyz?
- Daniel: aerospace engineer, idea creator and value-based leader in the field of innovation and deep tech
- Anton: architect and urban planner, sustainability and climate protection expert, grew up with art, big fan of tennis

Planned activities:
- With TBB we partner on the ESG Masters Conference
- With 1E9 we are partnering again for the Festival of the future 2024.
- With UTUM we will build the Industrial Metaverse Makerspace as a basis to grow the community.
- With TUM Venture Labs Software & AI we will build together a Web3 Microclass.
- With Founders@UniBw we push forward Web3 technology for the public sector.
- With Werk1 we are identifying opportunities for a Munich Web3 Hub.
- With Wayra Germany, we have a central physical space in Munich to meet.
- With the Bavarian Ministry for Digital Affairs we are planning the Bavarian Price for Digitalisation to be an NFT.
- With the City of Munich we are in contact for the Oktoberfest 2024.
