Francisco and his wife Alba are establishing a shelter in Baños de Agua Santa, Ecuador to provide safe homes and educational opportunities for orphaned children from the Amazon Jungle.

After growing up as an orphan in the Amazon Jungle, Francisco kept in mind what it was like to be a child without anyone to take care of him. As an adult, he and his wife Alba are now starting a shelter in Baños de Agua Santa, Ecuador to help kids find a safe home and educational opportunities.

Over the last year Francisco and his family: -Took in 8 girls from the jungle and cared for them with months when their mom was deathly ill with Covid. Thankfully, she recovered and he sent the kids back.

-Took in Silvio when his father attacked him in a drunken rage and drove him out of his house. After staying with Francisco for some months he found an adopted family in another town and is attending classes there. silvio

-We raised $12,000 to build the space for the kids shelter which Francisco successfully built within 3 months. See here: https://x.com/noahchonlee/status/1836039527464345811

-Free virtual programming classes thanks to TechLit nonprofit for three kids class

-Hosted community events like teaching the kids juggling and an intro to finance workshop juggling

Currently Francisco and his wife are taking care of Damaris, who they decided to adopt, and are looking for how to support more kids. DamarisWithBabySloth DamarisWithFranciscoAndAlba

Using Francisco's experience building houses, we are also starting a construction company which we expect will make sustainable revenue to support the community and expand the kids' shelter starting one year from now.

We would love to welcome calls and visitors to meet the community, so please reach out! You can schedule a call with Noah who supports this project at http://cal.com/noahchonlee/15min or message Francisco (only speaks Spanish) at +593 96 094 8048
