Obsidian.md is a popular notetaking tool for intellectuals, boasting over 200'000 discord users and 1M+ downloads that offers an extensible interface via plugins. Web3 is hard to use, and scientists are short on time. By hiding web3 behind the scenes in obsidian we can bring the internet of value and the tools of the decentralized science ecosystem to software they are already using.

In version 1, users will be able to pull IPFS content directly onto the obsidian Canvas, Call edge compute jobs by transacting on the lilypad network, pull desci nodes, coordinate databases with kamu, doing protein folding with plex, create nanopubs and mint hypercerts.

Value capture for the Obsidian-Desci project is powered by Mimisbrunnr. Users can invest in the entire ecosystem by purchasing one token Mim, which are backed by unconcentrated Uniswap V3 liquidity pairs of various desci tokens / ETH. Mims are minted by depositing liquidity, and can be unwrapped which sends a collection of these tokens back into the users wallet.
