【Project Intro】

The Seed Art Workshop for Seniors project aims to expand and enhance artistic expression among older adults through seed-based crafts.

The project involves conducting hands-on seed art workshops for seniors, teaching them how to create unique pieces such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, decorations, and Christmas wreaths. These workshops serve as a platform for artistic expression, fostering joy and satisfaction among participants.

【Self Intro】

My name is Sugar Cheng, a retired public servant turned art teacher specializing in seed art. I currently teach at the Silver Talent Pool in Tainan City Government. Since my retirement, I've developed a keen interest in seed painting and handicrafts, leading me to collect seeds from various plants. I transform these seeds through painting and reassemble them into unique pieces of art.

While I occasionally participate in local creative markets, my primary motivation is not financial gain but rather the joy derived from pursuing my passion. I find immense satisfaction in sharing my skills with the community, particularly seniors, in community colleges, churches, and community activity centers. Through my workshops, I teach older adults how to create art using seeds, crafting items such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, decorations, and even Christmas wreaths.

These workshops are offered free of charge, allowing me to spread happiness and fulfillment to participants while enjoying the process myself.

【Why I'm Here】

Through the introduction of my son, MN Hsu, I have learned about Gitcoin Grants and the potential it holds for projects like mine within the Web3 community. I am seeking support from the Gitcoin community to further develop and expand my seed art workshops. The funds will be used to acquire more diverse seeds, art supplies, and venue expenses for workshops.
