Since June 2022, we have been building and sharing the vision of Solarpunk Nomadism: an expansive ecosystem with three core elements:
- Solarpunk Nomads: Nomadic changemakers utilizing zero-carbon emission vehicles—such as EV vans, EV bikes, and sailboats—powered by renewable energies.
- Solarpunk Hubs: Community third spaces where local residents collaborate on climate action and adaptation initiatives.
- Solarpunk Safe Places: Regional community centers for solarpunk nomads, situated in areas resilient to climate change.
All the vehicles we create are community-owned and are employed to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable and climate-resilient society.
WHO ARE THE SOLARPUNK NOMADS
Changemakers, dreamers, and builders who live nomadic or semi-nomadic lifestyles using zero-carbon emission vehicles - such as EV vans, EV bikes, sailboats or even traveling on foot- powered by renewable energy.
🚐 🛰️These nomads stay constantly connected to the internet through satellite connections and are proactive in forging a Solarpunk society.
☀️🗣️ They are the storytellers and primary catalysts of a society where technology and ecological wisdom converge to craft a brighter future for all.

IMPACT AND CLIMATE Solarpunk Nomads is a complex, multilevel project aimed at igniting a movement of nomadic Change Makers dedicated to building a brighter, sustainable future for all. Our methodology is rooted in action, translating into the implementation of a myriad of climate solutions and initiatives across the globe, all implemented in direct collaboration with local actors. Our direct climate impact can be divided into:
- the development and deployment of carbon neutral camper vehicles that can be used for free to actively lower greenhouse gas emissions -the establishment of Solarpunk routes that promote sustainable mobility and reduced carbon footprints from sustainable travel. -the creation of third places such as Safe Places and Solarpunk Hubs, which are essential in order to activate local communities on Climate Adaptability & Action and to provide support to traveling Solarpunk Nomads. In addition to these tangible actions, we recognize the significant indirect climate impact of our educational and cultural initiatives. These projects include workshops, public art exhibitions, long term trainings and financing of artists. While these impacts are not easily measured by traditional metrics like carbon sequestration, they are crucial for long-term change. For these initiatives, we utilize the Green Comp Framework developed by the European Union, which helps us track the development of sustainability competences among participants. Through this dual approach, combining direct climate actions with educational and cultural efforts, Solarpunk Nomads strives to create a solid and enduring impact on the path to a sustainable future.
Our detailed impact, including the summary of the climate impact over the past year and all the metrics we actively track, can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14S86ujLQIswhWsdi-hHjN28OJ5MksNbALutSUZBJb5o/edit?usp=sharing

SCALABILITY & TIMELINE Since the beginning of the project we have been building seriously following hard deadlines. This process has been proven effective and the amount of projects completed demonstrates that.
Methodology & Strategy We are guided by the principles of Public Goods and Open Source, always open to collaborating with other regenerative projects. This approach ensures that the knowledge generated by our project can be utilized and scaled by others.
To maintain our momentum, we have set the following key growth goals:
We aim to double the amount of Solarpunk Camper Vehicles designed and produced every year. We aim to increase the number of Solarpunk Hubs made every year (first one in 2024) We aim to activate in 2026 the first Solarpunk Safe Place and to keep building them steadily. We aim to keep building and running a minimum (3 to start) amount of educational initiatives & tools every year. We aim to keep building and running a minimum (3 to start) amount of educational workshops and trainings every year.
To be mentioned, we have started in 2024 to actively explore the diversification of our income with European Union Climate grants, with the idea of broadening the support system of the project.
