Developing an open-source dApp for digital repatriation and virtual exhibitions of colonized artifacts aimed at supporting origin communities and promoting cultural heritage awareness.

Project Overview: Our project develops an open-source decentralized application (dApp) that aims to address the historical issue of colonized artifacts. The primary goal is to repatriate the provenance and history of these artifacts through digital means. By creating a platform for virtual exhibitions, we enable digital repatriation, which not only raises awareness of cultural heritage but also preserves it in a format that is accessible worldwide.

Impact: The platform facilitates economic repatriation by channeling proceeds from virtual exhibitions back to the communities and countries of origin. This funding strategy directly supports specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helping to make these communities whole and sustainable. Additionally, our initiative includes an educational component where we provide financial literacy training focused on digital finance and the use of wallets. This empowers communities not only to benefit from immediate financial contributions but also to engage actively and autonomously with emerging digital economies.
