What is Holonym?

Holonym is a privacy-preserving identity protocol. It uses zero knowledge proofs to allow users to prove they are a unique human and receive a high score Gitcoin Passport stamp for Sybil Defense without revealing their identity.

Why is it important for Gitcoin?

Holonym provides Sybil Defense for Gitcoin Grant Rounds through an integration with Gitcoin Passport. Holonym lets users perform zero knowledge off-chain KYC to privately mint an SBT-NFT "proof of unique person" attestation to an Optimism EOA.

What are the goals of this grant?

This grant provides support for the Holonym protocol so users can:

  1. Prove they are a unique human with a Holonym Gitcoin Stamp on Optimism

  2. Maximize their proof strength by minting multiple proofs on their identity
