Hi, I'm Victor A young French cybersecurity engineer who finished his studies a few months ago.
When I started contributing to ethereum.org (in March 2022) I wanted to start contributing to an open source project. The problem is that it's not easy to find the right project. Contribution informations aren't always clear and/or the codebase is too large. You can quickly lost yourself when facing with the number of files and lines of code to study. And all this just to be able to understand the structure and operation of the project and then be able to contribute to it.
But at the end of May 2022, the ethereum.org team announced it was starting a complete migration from Javascript to Typescript, and that's when I told myself it was TIME to really get started. Having found the right project with clear explanations (thanks Pablo for that 🚀), I got motivated to convert one file, and then another and another and so on.
In the end, on this migration (here: https://github.com/ethereum/ethereum-org-website/issues/6392), I converted 61 of the 173 files! I also helped convert the files to the Chakra-style framework.
To sum up my contributions in code on ethereum.org (see all my PRs here: https://github.com/ethereum/ethereum-org-website/pulls?q=is%3Apr+author%3Avdusart), I've made 222 commits divided into 38 PRs, which puts me in 11th position among the biggest contributors (https://github.com/ethereum/ethereum-org-website/graphs/contributors). I didn't even know there was a leaderboard for contributions haha I found out about it when I was researching my profile haha!
As well as contributing code, I also did a bit of translation in 2022, translating over 10k words. Link to my profile (https://crowdin.com/profile/vdusart)
You can find my gitpoap profile (https://www.gitpoap.io/p/dusart.eth) to see my contribution awards.
Even though I now have a less time to contribute to ethereum.org, I'm still active in the blockchain community. For example, I have co-written an ERC for managing rights in smart-contracts (which you can find here: https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-6617).
