Hello, my name is Lavender, and I am a Web 3 Tech enthusiast, a community manager, and a novice UI/UX designer. In my active engagements in the Web 3 space, I am a contributor at H.E.R. DAO (as one of the stewards in Kenya), which basically is a women-centered developer DAO, including non-binary audiences, whose primary goal is diversifying the blockchain ecosystem, leading to more versatile and holistic innovations.

This incredible experience has inspired me to continue my work in positively impacting marginalized communities in Africa and onboarding them to Web 3 through Hackathons and conferences. My love for Gitcoin has transpired in me, and I have onboarded four teams of HDK developer ladies in Kenya to the ETHSafari'23 Gitcoin round.

I have also contributed by creating educational content training grantees on obtaining their Gitcoin passports and increasing their matching pool. I have mostly attended and hosted webinars on Gitcoin education, and I am currently learning how to become a successful Gitcoin grants round operator.

My other extensive volunteer work is at Devconnect. This is my first time volunteering in real life at a big conference with global and diverse individuals in the Web 3 ecosystem. As a volunteer Lead & support team at Devconnect, I aim to achieve the following goals:

• Contribute to the event's success: As a volunteer, I will play a vital role in ensuring the conference runs smoothly. I can help create a positive and productive environment for all participants by assisting with registration, managing sessions, and supporting volunteers.

• Develop new skills: Devconnect features workshops, panels, and sessions on the latest technological trends and advancements. Volunteering will grant me access to these educational resources, helping me stay updated with the latest developments in the field. This will enable me to expand my knowledge, improve my problem-solving skills, and enhance my adaptability and time management skills.

• Build confidence: I am confident that volunteering at Devconnect will boost my confidence and communication skills. Engaging with a global audience and working alongside professionals will be a transformative experience for personal and professional growth.

• Foster personal growth: Volunteering at Devconnect is an excellent platform for personal development. Through this experience, I shall improve my problem-solving skills, learn to adapt to new situations and manage my time effectively. These skills will help me in my future career and my personal life.

• Create networking opportunities: Volunteering at Devconnect will allow me to network with industry professionals, speakers, and fellow tech enthusiasts worldwide. This will lead to valuable connections, potential mentors, and future career opportunities.
