The web3 Warri is a community of (and for) blockchain developers, smart contract developers, builders, technical writers, open-source contributors, and tech enthusiasts interested in building the next generation of the internet through collaborative learning, meetups, workshops, hackathons, and conferences.

Our community is committed to fostering the development and adoption of blockchain technology, Ethereum, and the growth of the Ethereum ecosystem.

Vision

We are passionate, excited, and driven by the vision and the core philosophies of Web 3.0 - which include:

  • Decentralization
  • Immutability
  • Permissionless
  • Trustless
  • Crytoeconomics/native payments via cryptocurrency.

And, yes our arms are open to both seasoned developers and newbies, underrepresented people, and the encouragement of women's participation in blockchain technology.

Goals

Our goal is to build the next generation of Internet builders - web3, by onboarding at least 100 blockchain and smart contract developers by Q1 2024 through workshops, meetups, hackathons, and conferences.

Creating community safe spaces fostering self-expression, art, technology, positive impact, and enjoyment, particularly active around Ethereum events and pop-up cities since 2019.
Developing a transparent, fair Ethereum-based lottery protocol using cryptographic shuffling tech with customizable parameters to innovate public goods fundraising and improve trust and collaboration in communities.
Establish a self-sustaining farm and orphanage school in Homa Bay, Kenya, to provide food, employment, and education, aimed at eradicating poverty and malnutrition. Total budget: $76,200.
The initiative uses solar power and technology to improve infrastructure in the Global South, creating job opportunities, and providing community charge stations with a prototype ready by Q3 2024.
