Zuzalu 1.0 in Montenegro was great, what’s next?
Why Zuzalu needs to be in Africa - 4/10 humans will be in Africa by 2100. It includes the fastest growing economies and populations who are ready to leapfrog existing legacy systems and adopt new technologies. It is said that Africa doesn’t need web3, web3 needs Africa because this is where all the real use cases are. Hundreds of millions of people are unbanked but could be using peer to peer systems. We can offer real value here and alter the direction of a billion lives. Why in Zanzibar - Zanzibar is a democratic and popular government with visas upon arrival, an incredibly beautiful natural environment, is far safer than most big cities in the USA, easy flight access, and a massive initiative to make it a welcoming place for tech entrepreneurship.
Included in this initiative are the ideas include creating a blockchain city with tokenized assets, a VR embassy you can walk into to apply for visas and e-residency, and an AI summarizer of all government meetings.
Imagine this: one week at Zuzalu is about DID systems. The government sponsors prizes. By the end of the week, a system is built and presented to the government and within the next few months millions of people have DIDs.
Another week is about VR and the government creates a prize to build a VR embassy where people can apply for visas and e-residency. By the end of the two months of a Zuzalu in Zanzibar with this partnership, we could have millions of people using the systems we have been waiting to see out in the world for YEARS.
However, we can’t just leap in blind. That’s why supporting this grant would enable us to scout out locations and form local relationships to make this a location for Zuzalu in 2024. This grant would help cover costs of meeting hotel managers, government officials, visiting dozens of hotels, and then reporting findings to the whole Zuzalu community.
