We regret to inform you that we’ve been forced to open our doors due to the brutal effects of climate change ravaging our planet.

With rising temps and a heavy heart, we’ve made the tough choice to start selling fully sustainable products made out of recycled materials and upcycled trash. While the decision wasn’t easy, allocating proceeds to the BETTER Climate Fund was ultimately the right move.

We understand that this is a challenging time for many and the store opening is likely an upsetting moment. But we are committed to providing additional support during this period. Please feel free to call our climate crisis hotline if needed at 1-877-365-1816.

When it comes to direct, personal, ground-level climate action, many people find it’s too inconvenient or difficult to participate. Throw web3, crypto, and ReFi into the conversation, and you’ve lost even more of the most well-intentioned folks.

But what’s more convenient and ingrained than online shopping? Introducing the BETTER Climate Store: Climate action from the comfort of your couch. Launched last September, thanks in part to funding from Gitcoin, the BETTER Climate Store proceeds go toward powering the BETTER Climate Fund, a decentralized, community-driven endowment supporting climate positive projects. What’s more, the store provides an easy web2 and ecommerce onboarding mechanism for those interested in the ReFi and crypto space.

In an effort to reach more people outside of web3, the BETTER DAO (previously at betterdao.io) can now be found at betterclimatefund.com.

The BETTER Climate Fund is a DAO-controlled, community-driven endowment supporting climate impact projects. The BETTER DAO previously partnered with Spirals to raise and distribute funds to approved planet-positive initiatives. Due to Spirals recent inactivity, the BETTER Climate Fund is now generating yield through its own Ethereum staking strategies.

🤝 NEW EVENTS, PRODUCTS, AND COLLABS BETTER is co-sponsoring climate and creative events across California this Spring, partnering with brands and collaborators to develop new BETTER and co-branded products and marketing campaigns, and continuing to add climate-friendly brands and products to the BETTER Climate Store, delivering the best eco-friendly products to consumers and sending proceeds to the BETTER Climate Fund.

✌️ CLIMATE FUND ENHANCEMENTS Developing a front-end app and back-end enhancements to the BETTER Climate Fund as well as exploring new L2 solutions to incentivize participation, make it easier to deploy holdings for impact initiatives, and create frictionless and rewarding ways to contribute to the Fund and help govern it.

👋 WEB2 TO WEB3 ONBOARDING Building a pathway for simple $USD contributions to the BETTER Climate Fund through Shopify. Improving community organization and ease of participation for those outside of web3 and crypto.

BETTER is building an endowment for planet positive impact via the BETTER Climate Fund, which is governed by the community through a DAO. Our growing list of Climate Advisors helping to steward the best possible use cases for the Fund include policy and strategists from Climate Resolve, Toucan and MIT. 🤝

The future of the BETTER Climate Fund is in the hands of the community, meaning it could expand into any number of different areas including conservation, new forms of tokenized climate impact credits, individual donations to compelling causes, and more. 🌿
