With the global economy only being 7.2% Circular, a drop from 8.6% in 2018 to 7.2% in 2023, amidst commitments from corporations, business, and governments we are yet to move the needle.
Circularity can't solve the climate crisis or any other poly crisis on it's own but we can't solve it without circular strategies, and coordination tools and mechanisms that will address the deeper issues related to belief systems and their impacts on the overall crisis landscape.
Building on the principles of the circular economy collectively and as a vital compass for our journey to emergence of systemic alternatives and reevaluation of our collective identify and values as citizens/local communities, government officials, subject matter experts we can work together to shape society, government and our economies on the same "first principles" of living systems.
The aim of the DAO would be to create a collective of place-based, nature-first changemakers using web3 tools across multiple, and we plan to do this through:
-
Community Building Through capacity building training and workshops, provide the community with the tools and training they need to regenerate their communities from a truly “regenerative” perspective. • Working with local trainers doing regeneration and applying circularity within different sectors. • Develop/on-board the Core DAO team. • Form different workstreams (Circularity Pods) to advocate on the circular economy in different sectors and be champions within the pods. • Meet-Ups and Visits to businesses, enterprises engaged in the circular economy and regeneration as learning centres.
-
Circularity Pods This will be hubs (from the different workstreams above) to bring together projects and ideas from the community with the aim of helping them thrive get access to networking opportunities, development consulting services and matchmaking processes to develop the regenerative project, concept or product. • Develop “Circularity Twins”, model projects/communities working together from different regions, sectors as a way of creating learnings, processes that can be scaled and adapted across regions and communities.
-
New CC+C Standard (Circular Community + Culture) All ideas, initiatives, products, coordination mechanisms will be help develop a living Circularity Cookbook based on the social, environmental, economic, community and cultural essence of the place for a truly regenerative experience. • Help develop a framework for civic engagement through technology, research and social processes such as systems aware strategic alignment processes.
