A community-driven climate data platform with real-time monitoring using sensors, offering insights to the public, businesses, and regulators while supporting machine learning and data stewardship.

Climecheck is an ecosystem with a real-time Big Data Platform of climate monitoring devices around the globe, creating a hyper-localized data stream. Traditionally, weather, pollution, ozone, and other climate data have been the sole prerogative of governments and large organisations. Climecheck adds a third factor to the solution space; a community-centric bottom-up approach. The climecheck ecosystem enables those impacted most by climate change to contribute to the solution space.

Climecheck aggregates data that meets the FAIR guiding principles for scientific data management and stewardship, making the data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable allowing people and businesses to train machine learning models on the data.

Data aggregated on the Climecheck infrastructure will provide insight to 3 primary stakeholders:

  1. General public: Through dashboards, trends, and notifications.

  2. Enterprise: An environmentally integrated predictive model to help organisations achieve lower carbon emissions (and a future carbon credit marketplace).

  3. Regulators: Policy analysis and insights. In the near future an easy-to-use infrastructure for certifying enterprise carbon credit (for the future carbon credit marketplace).

To achieve this we are combining 3 approaches:

Hardware: We are developing hardware sensors to track environmental data. The sensors can be deployed at homes, schools and companies. Climecheck will also integrate other sensors and weather stations. Our platform can also accommodate 3rd party sensor integrations.

Software: The software systems allow for data aggregation and incentivization through Weave chain nodes.

Intelligence: We are integrating machine learning models to provide time series prediction from historical data.
