Help us supporting the Cripto Cantina initiative, a series of inclusive, innovative, and empowering meetups for the local blockchain community in Costa Rica. The goal is to promote cohesion, connect entrepreneurs with technical experts, encourage new projects, and position Costa Rica as a hub of web3 innovation.
What is a Cripto Cantina?
The Cripto Cantina initiative fosters an informal and non-structured recurrent meetup environment as well as more structured events, bringing together various stakeholders in the local blockchain ecosystem. This includes entrepreneurs, public and private institution representatives, technology developers/designers, investors, and crypto enthusiasts. The initiative aims to create a space that facilitates networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
Our Context and why Cripto Cantina is relevant
The local blockchain community lacks a cohesive platform for networking and collaboration, hindering the growth of innovative projects. The Cripto Cantina addresses this issue by providing a regular meetup space where individuals from diverse backgrounds can connect, share ideas, and explore potential partnerships.
Furthermore, the initiative promotes the adoption of cryptocurrencies in the country, contributing to the growth of blockchain technology and its applications. Most opportunities to learn about web3 are focused in San José, in Costa Rica’s Central Valley, hence our goal of taking Cripto Cantina outside of San José as well.
Our Objectives:
- Foster stronger connections among members of the local web3 community.
- Facilitate the inclusion of women and non-technical individuals, into the web3 space.
- Promote the adoption of web3 tools within the local community.
Previous Accomplishments:
Before the pandemic and up to 2022, Cripto Cantinas were informally organized in the East of San José, Barrio Escalante. Starting in March 2023, a partnership with Charlie Network led to monthly Cripto Cantinas in the West. Themes included the International Women's Day celebration, Cybersecurity, local regulatory landscape, payments and NFTs, and themed events on regenerative finance in collaboration with ReFi Costa Rica.
MONTHLY AGENDA: since August 2023 we have been able to produce and share an official monthly Cripto Cantina Agenda so people can schedule in advance. And now we are also in Luma!
