This project will help onboard the next generation of Changemakers and Nonprofits to Web3. In addition to supporting the continued growth of the Crypto Altruism blog and podcast, funding from GG19 will support the ongoing development of the Web3 Changemaker Toolkit and help us build our capacity to support Nonprofits, grassroots movements, and activists interested in using the power of Web3 to change the world.

We are on a mission to change the narrative around Web3, and we need your help!

Crypto Altruism is a content platform dedicated to showing the world the good of crypto, blockchain, and Web3! Through our podcast and blog, we’ve released 132 podcast episodes across two series, over 250 blog posts, and have interviewed 140+ pioneering leaders working at the intersection of Web3 and social impact. Crypto Altruism is a leader in supporting non-profits and social impact Changemakers with education on how they can leverage blockchain-based tools to advance their mission.

There is unfortunately a lot of negativity going around about crypto, and we are trying our best to shift this narrative by showing the world that Web3 is good. By supporting the movement, it will help get this message in front of as many people as possible.

  Our impact so far

Crypto Altruism was launched in May 2021 and has been bootstrapped into a leading platform uplifting the Web3 social impact community with high quality content and engaging dialogue on the power of Web3 to build a better world.

Here are some of our key accomplishments so far:

• The release of 132 podcast episodes through two podcast series, featuring interviews with pioneering social impact Changemakers in Web3

• The publication of 250+ articles highlighting the social impact use cases of Blockchain

• The creation of dozens of resources for Nonprofits and Changemakers

We have an ambitious plan to grow the movement, reach new audiences, and help Nonprofits and social impact pioneers turn their education into action and actively build in the Web3 ecosystem. Whether it's using blockchain to monitor and measure social impact, to deliver charitable services, or to raise funds and engage new audiences, we believe that Web3 is a vital tool for impact projects to future proof their movements and thrive.

  The impact of your donation

To date, Crypto Altruism has been almost entirely bootstrapped, with some early-stage funding received through the Gitcoin Beta Round and GG18, and through sponsorships and community donations. This gave us the support needed to get this project off the ground.

With your help, we will be able to see this project through to completion and continue growing our long-term capacity to show the world the good of Web3, while helping onboard and support Nonprofits and Changemakers in the space.

The deliverables for this project include:

• Deliverable # 1 – Web3 Changemaker Toolkit - Continuing with the development of a Web3 Changemaker Toolkit that contains educational content, an introductory course, a self-serve tool to help nonprofits identify the Web3 applications and tools that meet their organizational needs, a searchable database of tools and resources, case studies, and networking support for Nonprofits, grassroots organizations, and Changemakers who are interested in using Web3 to advance their cause. It will serve as a one-stop shop for Nonprofits and Changemakers looking to use Web3 tools to grow their movements of change.

• Deliverable # 2 – Re-design of Crypto Altruism Content Hub - Re-designing and re-launching the Crypto Altruism site to create a true hub for the exchange of ideas on Web3 social impact. The result will be a more accessible experience for those looking to learn about the social impact potential of Web3 while allowing for additional integrations including free online courses, sharable infographics, and a versatile database of Web3 social impact projects.

• Deliverable # 3 – Special podcast series focused on Nonprofits in Web3 - The release of a special, 10-part Crypto Altruism Podcast series, titled The Web3 Nonprofit, where we interview 10 pioneering Nonprofit leaders who have successfully used Web3 tools to advance their cause.

  How your funding will elevate the Web3 social impact ecosystem

Your support will help uplift the burgeoning community of Changemakers using Web3 to drive social impact and build a better world.

This project will help:

• Create an accessible on-ramp for Nonprofits interested in engaging with Web3.

• Onboard more changemakers into Web3, helping lead to greater adoption in traditional impact spaces.

• Drive greater inclusion in Web3 by breaking down the barriers to entry for those in the Nonprofit sector, especially smaller grassroots organizations.

• Build the capacity of the Web3 social impact community by providing useful resources and building a network of Changemakers dedicated to using the power of Web3 to build a better world.

• Enable the sharing of best practices related to Web3 and social impact.

• Grow Crypto Altruism's capacity to deliver more high quality content and reach new audiences.
