Earthist Network is a mission-driven project initiated in 2019, focusing on preserving heirloom seeds and promoting regenerative hemp farming. We combine natural farming with modern technology, aiming to create micro-processing centers for small and family hemp farmers, further bolstering regional economies and seed preservation efforts.
Our aim and impact:
- Seed Sovereignty Decentralize seed preservation, ensuring seeds are adaptable to local conditions, and empowering communities to take charge of their agricultural future.
- Boost Regional Economies Through the establishment of micro-processing centers, small and family hemp farmers get resources and knowledge to process their produce, ensuring economic mobility, distributed production and lesser carbon emissions.
- Promote Regeneration With an emphasis on hemp's environmental benefits and regenerative processing and packaging methods, our network advocates for eco-friendly agricultural practices and supports other initiatives
- Educate and Engage We raise awareness about seed diversity's significance, hemp's potential, and the importance of regeneration.
- DAO Operator Program We have initiated the "DAO Operator Program" with BanklessDAO_TR to empower individuals to engage with decentralized organizations, complete tasks, and earn token payments. This program is designed to not only offer immediate opportunities but also equip participants with the skills and experience needed to thrive in global DAOs.
Aiming for Impact
Earthist Network's project is about more than just agriculture; it's a movement towards a regenerative, and community-centric future. We aim for a future where seeds remain accessible and diverse, protecting our planet's agricultural heritage and ensuring a regenerative food system for generations to come.
Significance of Seed Diversity In the contemporary agricultural landscape, 75% of plant genetic diversity has been lost since the 1900s. Astonishingly, out of around 30,000 edible plant species globally, only 150 are cultivated, and a mere 30 provide the majority of our diets. Such a narrow focus on crop cultivation increases vulnerability to diseases, pests, and changing climate conditions, threatening global food security. Decentralizing Seed Preservation Centralized seed banks, although essential, are vulnerable to natural and political disruptions. The Earthist vision of decentralized seed banks disperses the responsibility of seed conservation. Utilizing blockchain technology, the initiative ensures traceability, authenticity, and security of seed data. The goal is not just to preserve seeds, but to make them accessible and adaptable to varied local conditions.
Rediscovering Heirloom Seeds In 2019, we embarked on a mission to rediscover lost local heirloom seeds and created our first seed bank in 2022
The Role of Hemp Hemp, often misjudged due to its association with cannabis as a non-psychoactive variety of the cannabis plant, is a primary focus of Earthist endeavors. It grows rapidly, has myriad uses from textiles to medicine, and offers environmental benefits, including carbon sequestration.
Our engagement with heirloom seeds involves a comprehensive chain of activities: 0. Seed Bank

Within Earthist Network's multifaceted project, we've shifted our focus to support regeneration and education initiatives in our bioregion.
