Grant to fund Geo Web contract security through a Security Bounty Program, transitioning from self-administered to platform-managed, overseen by a multi-sig team.

The Geo Web’s contracts are unaudited. As a bootstrapped public good project, formal audit rates are currently out of reach for the core team (note: we did utilize automated auditing tools & contracted an external reviewer prior to launch).

So, this grant will be used to invest in the public good of Geo Web contract security. The Geo Web core team will allocate this grant’s funds to establishing a Security Bounty Program. It will start as a self-administered program, but will eventually graduate to one administered via Immunefi or an alternative platform.

The core team will steward these funds through a dedicated multi-sig and set a program structure commensurate with the total available budget. We believe an open bug bounty program can be a more cost-effective and philosophically-aligned security investment than a formal audit would be currently.
