Web3 x Metacrisis conference blending DAOs, ReFi, decentralized coordination, with talks, workshops, and activities for learning and networking. Aims to bridge crypto and non-crypto communities and promote regenerative initiatives in Croatia from August 11-25, 2023.

What

MetaFest is the first Web3 x Metacrisis conference.

A unique blend of DAOs & ReFi and related non-crypto regen, decentralized coordination, gameb, metamodern initiatives.

Talks, panels, workshops, an unconference, games & loads of other activities will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn new things & connect with others through an engaging experience.

This is the third MetaFest but the first one IRL, organized by MetaGame & partners. Before, we organized this conference, hackathon, a festival & the second edition of it

Why

We’re bringing together thinkers & doers from fragmented but aligned communities to build bridges between crypto & non-crypto projects as well as inspire the creation of new initiatives.

Our overall goal is to spark local & global coordination and collaboration towards a regenerative future but also expect attendees to gain practical skills & knowledge they can apply to their own projects and organizations.

We’re also aiming for ~20% of attendees to be complete newbies. There will be a Gitcoin booth helping people create wallets, buy their first crypto & make a Gitcoin passport.

Our final goal is to highlight the good side of crypto in a region where its largely considered an overhyped scam & come up with new narratives for the long term potential of Web3.

Where & When

The event will take place from August 11th to 25th of 2023 in Fort Punta Christo, a 200-year-old fortress located near Pula, Croatia

Main event will consist of 3 days from August 16th to 18th, as so:

  • Meta/Regen Day
  • Coordination/DAO Day
  • The Unconference

There will also be side quests & adventures that attendees can participate in before & after.

Explore the beautiful surroundings of Punta Christo, historical architecture of Pula or hop in a kayak & explore caverns. Not enough? Maybe some scuba diving, jet skiing, quad biking or paintballin’ will suit your desire?

MetaFest could have a significant impact on attendees & the wider ecosystems by bringing together people from diverse perspectives & communities to explore the intersections, have fun & find the people with whom they could build a better, more collaborative & regenerative future.
