Giveth is onboarding real-world impact projects to web3 by empowering them with free access to novel fundraising mechanisms and new ecosystems of donors, while inspiring them to dive deeper down the blockchain rabbit hole.
We’ve been making HUGE progress in Q1 of 2024: We ran three quadratic funding rounds, brought our donation platform to now eight chains and networks, and launched loads of features including a custom donation widget, a project curation program, and streaming donations.
Now we’re working on growing our platform to attract more impact projects & new donors, while also setting our sights on DAOifying nonprofits.
Giveth.io is an open source, radically transparent, user-friendly donation platform that allows anyone to open crypto funding portals by creating projects for positive impact, with zero added fees and no intermediaries. Donors are also rewarded for giving to a wide range of projects that cover the field of for-good ventures such as feeding the homeless, funding community currency projects, and promoting planetary well-being.
Currently Giveth is live on Ethereum Mainnet, Gnosis Chain, Polygon PoS, OP Mainnet, Celo, Ethereum Classic, Solana, and Arbitrum.
How it works
Giveth goes beyond “just donations” with the following features:
- GIVbacks - Donors who give to verified public goods projects get rewarded with GIV. This flips the script on tax-deductible donation, creating a decentralized and borderless way of incentivizing donations.
- GIVpower - Donors can lock their GIV tokens for GIVpower and use them to boost/curate projects on the platform. Projects with more GIVpower are ranked higher, and in turn, their donors are rewarded with more GIVbacks, similar to the veToken model. Top-boosted projects also appear higher on Giveth!
- Quadratic Funding - The democratic matching program popularized by Gitcoin is also available on Giveth! Projects and donors enjoy multi-chain donation rounds with an easy and streamlined user experience.
Who uses it
Currently, over 3,200 projects have raised donations from over 12,700 donor addresses on Giveth.
Giveth is a permissionless platform that allows anyone to create a project and start raising funds, and anyone with a wallet can get started donating.
Projects who want to get to the next level can apply to be “Verified” as a public goods creator, providing information about their impact history and reputation at stake.
Major updates
As we blaze into Q2 of 2024, we are delighted to announce some significant updates and future plans.
Major milestones achieved last quarter
- Quadratic Funding: Ran 3 successful quadratic funding rounds start-to-finish, raising ±$420k for projects on Giveth.
- Recurring Donations: Integrated Superfluid to allow for streaming “recurring” donations to be set up to flow to projects on Giveth.
- Liquid Staking: Partnered with Stake Together to create a liquid staking opportunity where users can deposit ETH, earn yield, and a % of their earnings go to supporting verified projects on Giveth.
- Multisig support: Added support for Multisig Wallets, allowing Multisigs to create projects, make donations and boost with GIVpower! As well now project owners have more options for better security and collaboration.
- Improving QF: Made many improvements to our infrastructure for QF, making it easier and more efficient to run & operate rounds.
- Email Service Migration: Upgraded our email & CRM platform to keep our communication with donors and projects smooth and efficient.
- Custom Donation Widget: Worked with Donorship on a widget that allows websites to facilitate donations to Giveth projects.
- Solana: Added Solana as an option for donating & fundraising on Giveth. This marks the first integration of a blockchain outside Ethereum on our platform.

Upcoming Goals
The following is a list of new products, partnerships, and features that we have already begun building or are researching. Our ability to execute on these goals is dependent on fundraising and the success of our economy, so if you want to support the Future of Giving, please add us to your cart and donate!
In Progress
In the new year, we hope to continue running QF rounds on Giveth, creating a bigger impact for the public goods projects raising funds on our platform. In addition, we are actively working on the following improvements to our dApp and making steady progress:
- Project Attestations: Scoping out a decentralized project attestation system, allowing trusted ecosystem members to attest if a projects are legitimate, thereby taking steps towards decentralizing our verification system.
- Onboarding Guides: Improving our onboarding guides & project creation flow to help projects become more successful.
- Enhancing the UX for signing in and browsing projects: Allowing donors to navigate the dApp more easily.
- Expanded Wallet Connectivity: Expect broader compatibility with various web3 wallets through Wallet Connect, ensuring everyone can access & navigate Giveth easily.
- Improving GIVbacks process: We are updating the way we send GIV to donors who give to public goods projects, making our system more efficient & easier to operate.
In the Pipeline & Under Research
- Combine quadratic funding & bonding curves in a framework that supports projects in launching their own microeconomies.
- Improve our quadratic funding round UX so that multiple QF rounds can happen simultaneously.
- Develop a “cart” checkout feature to enable bulk transaction donating on Giveth.
- Integrate other L1s and L2s to allow projects more options for fundraising.
Giveth is a completely free donation platform that charges no fees from donors or projects to use our platform. Our sources of funding are predominantly public goods funding mechanisms like Gitcoin QF rounds, direct donations & grants. Please help sustain our community by adding us to your cart & donating!
