Giveth is onboarding real-world impact projects to web3 by empowering them with free access to novel fundraising mechanisms and new ecosystems of donors, while inspiring them to dive deeper down the blockchain rabbit hole.

Giveth.io is an open source, radically transparent, user-friendly donation platform that allows anyone to open crypto funding portals by creating projects for positive impact, with zero added fees and no intermediaries. Donors are also rewarded for giving to a wide range of projects that cover the field of for-good ventures such as feeding the homeless, funding community currency projects, and promoting planetary well-being.

Currently Giveth is live on Ethereum Mainnet, Gnosis Chain, Polygon PoS, OP Mainnet, Base, Polygon zkEVM, Celo, Ethereum Classic, Solana, Stellar, and Arbitrum.

Relationship with Glo Dollar and Optimism

Giveth ❤️Glo Dollar! We see Glo Dollar as a long-term partner in our vision to reward people all over the world for creating positive change with zero-cost philanthropy. And maybe, just maybe, seeing those people even making money from philanthropy…but more about Gurves later.

But back to how we’ve already created impact through our partnership with Glo Dollar:

  • We have integrated Glo Dollar into Giveth and whitelisted USDGLO as an eligible asset for GIVbacks
  • USDGLO is always eligible as a donation token in our QF rounds
  • We added USDGLO to our SuperFluid integration for donation streams
  • We have distributed many of our QF matching pools in USDGLO
  • We have encouraged the Giveth contributors to opt-in to being paid their wages in USDGLO

And this is just the beginning, as we are extremely excited about the new ways we will be able to collaborate in 2025!

Optimism

Optimism has historically been the ecosystem and chain into which we have put the most time, energy, and passion.

Here is a look at some of the collaborations we have already made with them:

  • We have deployed many of our Giveth features on Optimism, including donations, our $GIV token, as well as our GIVeconomy and GIVstreams.
  • We created an incentive program for projects to add Optimism to their wallets.
  • We have run multiple QF rounds on Optimism.
  • We advertise RetroPGF on our social media and at conferences.
  • We made Optimism the main chain for our GIVeconomy, through our GIVbacks and yield rewards.

How it works

Giveth goes beyond “just donations” with the following features:

  • GIVbacks - Donors who give to verified public goods projects get rewarded with GIV. This flips the script on tax-deductible donation, creating a decentralized and borderless way of incentivizing donations.
  • GIVpower - Donors can lock their GIV tokens for GIVpower and use them to boost/curate projects on the platform. Projects with more GIVpower are ranked higher, and in turn, their donors are rewarded with more GIVbacks, similar to the veToken model. Top-boosted projects also appear higher on Giveth!
  • Quadratic Funding - The democratic matching program popularized by Gitcoin is also available on Giveth! Projects and donors enjoy multi-chain donation rounds with an easy and streamlined user experience.

Who uses it

Currently, over 5,800 projects have raised donations from over 18,067 donor addresses on Giveth.

Projects who want to get to the next level can apply to be “Verified” as a public goods creator, providing information about their impact history and reputation at stake.

Updates

🌟2024 Highlights: Over $1.5M donated to impactful projects (including Glo Dollar) via 62,454 contributions from 12,098 donors, plus 4,689 new projects onboarded. We expanded to 11 chains, held 7 QF rounds and distributed $120K+ in GIVbacks.

Major milestones achieved last quarter

  • Launched q/acc (the predecessor for Gurves.) Eight startups raised an incredible ~173K POL from 1,261 supporters, with a $250,000 matching pool set to build liquidity for their tokens on QuickSwap. Tokens hit DEXs soon - stay tuned! 🚀
  • Partnered with PoolTogether to launch Giveth Vaults. These vaults will let users deposit assets like ETH or USDC (details coming soon), with part of the yield funding prizes and another portion supporting the Giveth Matching Pool.
  • Transition GIVbacks to full raffle mode! Now, every $5+ donation gives you a chance to win up to 500,000 GIV.
  • Held a booth at Devcon’s Impact Space to reconnect with old friends and guide new people into the ReFi space. We also were all over Thailand making Regen buzzzz 🐝

Upcoming Goals - In Progress

The following is a list of products and features that we are currently working on building:

  • Host a $100k QF round on Giveth to support verified public goods projects
  • Improving QF round user experience to optimize the matching estimations, and make it easier for Giveth visitors to find active rounds
  • Launch Season 3 of our Ambassador Program to empower a broader group of Giveth users
  • Create the MVP spec for Gurves (estimated to launch in 2025), to enable public goods projects to launch micro-economies backed by GIV
  • Power Giveth and its users with AI agents!!! 🤖

Upcoming Goals - Under Research

The following is a list of new products, partnerships, and features that we are considering adding to our roadmap near and long term.   • Bitcoin: Integrate Bitcoin to allow donors and projects to use Bitcoin for crowdfunding - enabling access to new audiences holding 56% of the total crypto market cap.
  • Donation Handler Smart Contract: Build infrastructure so that all donations pass through smart contracts, enabling custom logic to be added on top of donations made on Giveth in an on-chain and transparent way.
  • GIVeconomy UX: Improve the UX design of the GIVeconomy to make it easier for users to understand project curation & donor rewards.
  • Recurring Donations UX: improve the design of recurring (streaming) donations to make it easier for donors to “set it and forget it”.

Giveth is a completely free donation platform that charges no fees from donors or projects to use our platform.
