As is the case with this funding round for the Devconnect volunteers, I hereby am the project myself. I have not traveled from a foreign country to attend Devconnect İstanbul 2023. I am lucky to have welcomed you all at the very neighborhood I live in for the entire event just as did I greet friends for the freshly-previous ZuConnect İstanbul the last two weeks.
The main reason why I am applying to this round as a Devconnect 2023 volunteer can be summed up in two rather longish paragraphs:
-
It is currently rather financially harder for me to be able to access any event outside my country of origin nowadays, and I'd like to be able to be attending at least a single international event in 2024 within the Ethereum ecosystem both as a volunteer and generalist researcher who have some ideations at the intersection of research-led practice-driven arts, open finance, and ecosystem building. Attending these events help me attaining my planned launches in that I am working in the kitchen itself by volunteering and getting to know the sense-data thereof.
-
I am aiming to launch a series of 5 mini-books, each of which focus on a certain blockchain sub-culture. I see sub-cultures on the cause and praxes levels as cultures per se. For example, people who work on protocols are a subculture, people who build public goods infrastructure are a sub-culture, or people who concentrate at a given topic such as network states, DeSci, & the like are so.
Hence, I'd love to still be volunteering, attending future events where I would also be directly putting effort and at the same time reflect with people on their own journeys and identity within the entire ecosystem from the vantage point their own niché.
As an indie generalist researcher and a conceptual artist, I think I will be making the best of any probable donation.
