Empowering marginalized communities through the creation of Community Asset Vouchers that facilitate mutual aid, benefiting 65,000+ households in Kenya, Cameroon, and South Africa.

Grassroots Economics is a Kenyan non-profit foundation that seeks to empower marginalized communities by helping them coordinate their collective abundance. We do this by co-developing Community Asset Vouchers inspired by indigenous practices of mutual aid, built on the best of modern technology. Since 2009, we’ve expanded our network to 65,000+ households across Kenya, Cameroon and South Africa.
