TL;DR
Why?
Colombia is the second-most biodiverse country in the world, with 50% (55 million hectares) of its territory covered in vegetation. However, we lose more than 500 hectares of forest to deforestation daily.
Main Milestones since GG19
- Completed the first stage of KOKO DAO’s methodology to scale forest preservation in Colombia.
- Collected drone imagery and initial assessment for our second 300 hectares forest reserve in partnership with Gain Forest.
- New weekly newsletter with updates and educational content.
- Joined forces with other Gitcoin grantees to create Let’s GROW DAO, where we’ll be hosting a 24/7 livestream for the community during the two weeks of GG19.
- Launched new Facebook group for our on-ground farmer's communities.

- Creation of proof-of-impact certificates for 300 hectares of preserved native forest backed by Gain Forest technology.
- Biodiversity inventory with 3 local forest and biodiversity experts.
- We're committed to holding 10% of our treasury in in $GLO
Long-term vision
Our goal is to create an accessible blueprint methodology that any rural community in Colombia can use to preserve their small-scale native forests.
With access to initial funding, functional open-source dMRV tools, a financially sustainable business model, and continuous support from an international ReFi community.
