Decentralized educational platform utilizing blockchain for secure, private content monetization by creators, promoting equitable knowledge exchange and data protection.

About the project

The LearnChain project surges in January 2024 as a decentralized platform that enables creators to share and monetize their knowledge, experience, and educational resources directly with interested consumers. The solution is based on the use of blockchain to ensure secure, transparent distribution and fair compensation for content creators. On the platform, creators will be able to publish courses, videos, e-books, podcasts, and other educational content formats that will be tokenized as decentralized learning object assets that can be purchased and reused by students and creators alike.

Differentiation

What sets LearnChain apart from other projects is its focus on privacy and data protection. The Platform uses state-of-the-art privacy blockchain technology to ensure the security and confidentiality of user’s data, enabling privacy-preserving transactions and interactions out of the box and by default. This approach goes beyond mere security, as it also empowers users and creators by ensuring their data and interactions remain private, fostering a trusted environment for learning, sharing, and monetizing knowledge. By prioritizing privacy, LearnChain aims to create a secure platform where personal and intellectual property risks are minimized, encouraging an equitable exchange of information.

Mission

Our mission is to transform the knowledge economy, freeing knowledge from the chains of centralism and inequality. We seek to empower creators and learners, building a decentralized platform where the search for knowledge is free and the rewards are equitable.

Goals

Equity in Action: We are committed to creating an ecosystem where equity is more than a word - it's a reality. Every creator deserves a fair reward for their knowledge, and every learner deserves unrestricted access to education. Privacy-driven innovation: We are at the forefront of innovation, protecting the privacy of our users' data. We believe that privacy is a fundamental right that should not be compromised.

The Team

The team is composed by Researchers, Educators and Developers from two of the biggest universities in Brazil, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (~70.000 students) and Rio de Janeiro Rural Federal University (~30.000 students), with expertise in blockchain, privacy, and education that are collaboratively building a comprehensive solution that is technically solid and socially impactful.

We are also engaged in the DeSci landspace in Rio as we first experienced the community engagement in DeSci Rio 2024 promoted by IberoAM. It was a pivoting moment for the project as we interacted with peers and brainstormed.
